Because many of the guys that are unloading (Dodd, Reid, Stubbins, Kosmina, Veart) were all very prominent figures at the club. It would be the equivalent of Zidane, Raul, Ronaldo and Fabio Capello all sticking the boot in to Real Madrid at the same time (though obviously on a vastly different scale) - the sheer number of past club legends that are willing to come out and voice their opinions against the current setup is newsworthy in itself. Val might have his own anti-Coolen agenda, but to be fair to him these articles are writing themselves at the moment.
