We just have to be careful this "vigilantism" does not get out of control.

On the bright side, we may have found a role at the club for Flakes on his return.

Shin, Who the fuck are you to say who's a real supporter and who's not. Do you know everyone who comes through the gate? Reds turning in other Reds, That's a fucking disgrace. Last time I checked this was what a derby is all about. getting fucking mental and showing those Melbourne pricks who's boss.

Yeah, well, a real supporter group should be able to police itself. You know what's a disgrace? Cowardly little cunts, suddenly brave because they're in a group of their mates, throwing coins and shit at opposition supporters, or getting in the faces of single opposition fans that are just trying to walk to the tram or some shit like that. Both of which I saw last weekend after the game (which we WON for fucks sake). I disagree with heavy handed policing but the way to avoid it is - guess what - for home fans to stop acting like autistic 3-year-olds high on red cordial. Chanting, even flares etc are par for the course but as soon as people start getting violent it's not on IMO. It's a derby and a fierce rivalry but that's no reason to suddenly stop behaving like a human being. I'd have no qualms whatsoever about taking a photo of someone who's behaving like a fucking thug. If Adelaide fans can't police themselves, the police themselves will be all the more heavy-handed, which is bad for all of us...
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Come on ? Seriously?

Throwing flares on the street, threatning victory fans after the game and generally acting like your compensating for other short comings is not supporting your team, the team were not on the street were they? They were in the change rooms.

If i saw a victory fan being hit or threatened, id be the first to goto his/her aid and make sure they are ok .

Also, melbourne away trips are awsome!! Why? Because these people do not travel....largely because they have to goto school and mummy and daddy said no. At away trips the cameraderie is amazing and people know when to stop, coincidence?

Have to wonder why you were so touchy? Im assuming your one to get into peoples faces over a match

Suppose you witnessed an assault but you turned a blind eye simply because the victim had the wrong colour shirt on you are imo a shit human being, its in the same league as not caring because they have different colour skin.

Sik mate!

I never said I support violence or trying to start shit with the Victory. I'm saying flares where lit and a few people got arrested for pissing in a public place and you're calling for pictures being taken of *rowdy* fans. What happens in town or away from the stadium shouldn't concern the majority of the reds supporters. That's why we have the police to deal with kids trying to be hools. Nothing wrong with giving the other team a bit of stick and confrontations happen. It's part of the game and it's not always pretty but it wouldn't be football without it

I think its very clear im only talking about those VERY FEW who become violent and aggressive, not you average fan getting involved in the passion of the game

This quite reminds me:
SAMPSON
42 Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at them;
43 which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it.

ABRAHAM
44 Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON
45 I do bite my thumb, sir.

ABRAHAM
46 Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

SAMPSON [Aside to Gregory.]
47 Is the law of our side, if I say
48 ay?

GREGORY [Aside to Sampson.]
49 No.

SAMPSON
50 No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir,
51 but I bite my thumb, sir.

GREGORY
52 Do you quarrel, sir?

ABRAHAM
53 Quarrel sir! no, sir.

SAMPSON
54 If you do, sir, I am for you: I serve as good
55 a man as you.

ABRAHAM
56 No better?

SAMPSON
57 Well, sir.

Summary

Enter BENVOLIO.

GREGORY
58 Say "better," here comes one of my master's kinsmen.

SAMPSON
60 Yes, better, sir.

ABRAHAM
61 You lie.

SAMPSON
62 Draw, if you be men. Gregory, remember thy
63 washing blow.

They fight.

BENVOLIO
64 Part, fools!
65 Put up your swords; you know not what you do.

[Beats down their swords.]
Enter TYBALT.

TYBALT
66 What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds?
67 Turn thee, Benvolio, look upon thy death.

BENVOLIO
68 I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword,
69 Or manage it to part these men with me.

TYBALT
70 What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word,
71 As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.
72 Have at thee, coward!

Don't know if it has been mentioned here but I thought it was poor form at one point when the ball was played out in our attacking half by us for Cassio to regain his composure (I think after McKain ran through him in defense). Melbourne then threw it in and hoofed it to near our defensive corner...which is okay but they then proceeded to pressure the throw in. Poor form I thought.

This is what got me thinking about it....from overnight in the ACL Semi...

They have a history of it too like when Leckie was hacked down injured and they didn't play it out but went down and scored on the counter.

Ridiculous scenes.

The only positive could be that it makes teams hesitant to play the ball out everytime a player scrapes his knee. (the injury in that match was obviously legit, though the ref not the players should have intervened)

I tend do agree - I kinda get bored with Andy Harper banging on about it all the time but the point is true. It's nice when teams take the onus, but ultimately its the ref's job.
