Oh shit, I assumed we were all talking about the McKain handball. That's what I was referring to anyway.
Clear handball, should have been a penalty.
I didn't see the other one (that presumably was a Perth handball??

Yeah it was Slory's shot that I was wondering about. It happened so quickly I couldn't work out what had actually happened.
I'm surprised McKain's didn't cost a penalty, but ball-to-hand was always likely with his momentum at that point.

i say clear hand ball, should of been a penalty. agree that it was kicked into his arm, rather than arm to ball, but you can't just jump in front of goal spread eagle to stop shots, unless you're a keeper that is.
i missed the match and watched a replay yesterday. i still hold hope that we will gel, but yep, it was a disappointing showing. i'll wait til Friday before i start to panic.
EDIT: Slory's shot came off the defenders thigh btw.

I don't think it should've been called as hand ball. Unintentional.
Is he supposed to run around the pitch like he's river dancing with his arms glued to his side?

Oh it was definately a hand ball. But it can't be called up if it wasnt intentional. It clearly wasn't intentional so yah

Oh.
As far as I can tell from watching it a few times, no hand ball.
I did notice Burns taking down McKain in the box with a quick swipe to the head (or possibly back) though. Incident wasn't replayed on tv and seemed to elude attention from anyone.

Its not as clear cut as that though davidbloop. The only actual stipulation in the rules is exactly that - about intent - but the reality is if you've got your arms out, esentially making yourself bigger, and the ball hits it then the ref can and usually will call handball.Oh it was definately a hand ball. But it can't be called up if it wasnt intentional. It clearly wasn't intentional so yah

I figured this site had disappeared into the sands of swatch internet time. Turns out i was just using an old URL.
Last weeks game depressed me more than finding out that New Star Soccer 5 was not very good. So sad to see Adelaide reduced to caricature soccer team. 4-2-4 formations, 'effortless superiority' amateur mindset minus the superiority and definitely minus the amateur, Long ball. It's like Rini stopped reading Inverting the Pyramid half way through.
Hopefully the inclusion of Vidosic improves things this week, but i doubt it.
On the plus side, McKain is an excellent pick up. Almost makes up for gutting the defensive half of the team
