Marconi are a massive social club (i.e. pokie palace) with a fuckload of 'members', but they had nearly 3 decades in the NSL with shit crowds (by A-League standards), by the end they were dwindling to sub-2k. Nothing to do with the fact that they're effnix.

Football is a peripheral endeavour for Club Marconi. They are there to make money from their "over 25,000 members representing 18 nationalities and over 24 different languages" by giving them somewhere to buy food & drinks, sink money into pokies, etc. Sure, there's lots of money there & if they were serious in getting involved in the A-League they should be given every opportunity, but in its current incarnation Marconi would be a massive failure as an A-League franchise (at least in terms of community interest & crowd numbers). Get them to link up with a few other Western Sydney community clubs though and it might be another story...
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I cannot wait for this place to be up and running so I have somewhere to get a few beverages and watch away games with my fellow members. Also the club needs to have member parking and a shuttle buss service to take us to the games and back afterwards - that would be just peachy :D

that's not a bad idea at all! should put that to the club if the numbers turn up at this place for pre-match.

Its a pity it 3km and not 1km. But still so good! How many people will go post match say out of 10,000ish supporters? You'd hope for 10%!
