AUFC v Gold Coast United, Pre-Season friendly 9th September!

Postby offshorejack Wed Jul 27, 2011 7:16 pm

Gold Coast, which has been ramping up its pre-season preparations with a series of warm-ups against local clubs sides on the Glitter Strip, takes it up a notch with two friendlies against A-League opposition in early September – Melbourne Victory at home on September 3 and Adelaide United away on September 9.

:D Surely this will be open to the public? Last years friendlies were $13 for adults and $11 for concession...

not too long to wait for a red fix, for those of us struggling to cope with life without AU! :D

When we finish this 6 week block we will again have a couple of days off, and then we will continue with the final 6 week block that will bring us to the start of the competition, and that should be the last serious block to prepare ourselves with games against A-league clubs. We have at least 3 games against clubs from that level.

So from what I've heard 1 v Brisbane, 1 v Gold Coast who's the last one?

Ah Melbourne Victory at Home is the other one! I'm pretty sure the Gold Coast match is home as well.

Bought my ticket first thing this morning.

$17.95 after Ticketek take their cut. Fair cheap. All GA so no reserved seating and the Western Grandstand is closed off.

We will get more to this pre-season friendly than Gold Coast get to their average home games!

Get on it guys! CAN'T FCKN WAIT!!!

you got that the wrong way around bud! everything but the western grandstand is closed off! :? :? :?

imo, the club has well underestimated the interest in this game...

so what happens when the western grandstand sells out? turn people away?

I have a feeling that if the Western Stand fills up, which I doubt, they will open up one of the ends.

HA! I must have mixed it up - I was frantically buying my tickets on my phone at work and then realised they're all GA anyway and could have done it tonight!

Regardless, I'm still predicting a solid turnout. People have been craving football in this state for months!!

UniSA FC is happy to announce it is hosting a 'RED PARTY' as a pre-match event for the Gold Coast "Friendly".

We are offering cheap drinks for anyone wearing red ($4 Coopers Pale, $5 imported beers> Heineken, Carlsberg, Stell Artois, Budweiser + much more).

There will be competitions and games (e.g. Boat Races) and will be giving away free tickets to the game. We will also be speaking to AU in hope of getting donations of AU Merch for even more giveaways.

So come down to the City West Bar on Nth Terrace (opposite Skate Park) from 4pm on September the 9th for our first AU RED PARTY, then catch a tram to the game.

See the facebook event for more details.
