Slory on track

Postby Stuckey Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:42 pm

Andy Slory is no stranger to the highs and lows of professional football, and preparing for his first full season with the Reds, the highly regarded Dutchman is determined to ensure his time at the club is remembered both by him and the fans as one of the highs.

I know Sasa had the same problem when he went over to Korea the sand based pitch played havoc on his ankles.

Personally I would love to see him stuck to the bench this year with his spot filled with Ramsey. No disrespect to the man but I'd much rather see AU continue its promotion of youth and Rambo becomes our new Leckie!

He seems ridiculously injury prone tbh. He was involved in some solid contact which really stunted his progress last season. Hopefully he can remain fit this year.

You guys are becoming obsessed by youth!

We have signed many young players which is fantastic, but if there is a 30 year old who can do a better job then he needs to start.

Lets not forget 2 of slorys three injuries were do to his commitmemt to the ball and being taken out by a keeper both times, you really cant fault the guy for that

Even rini is talking slory up saying he believe slory is the new hero for au, and that going by his form on the track he will light it up this year, thats a big thing to say from a manager.

All we can hope now is we have a good am to put balls through for vidiiosic and slory .

I'm really looking forward to seeing what he brings to the side. With Leckie and Dodd gone he'll hopefully feel less inhibited by others already bringing what he can deliver.

He's looked good at training, from what I've seen anyway.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but whilst speaking of Ramsay, according to his uncle, Eddie Irinco, he is considering playing for the Philippines.

Apparently his mother is Filipino and his father is Scottish.

I think the guy has a lot of potential and showed glimpses of class last season, he's definitely a great impact player off of the bench with his pace and crossing abbility. I think if we can keep him for the duration of his career, he has the potential to develop in to another Dodd-like figure at the club.

But, yes, still a fair way to go before he reaches those sorts of heights.

Rambo's game is pretty one dimensional at the moment, so I'd be inclined to give Slory the nod. It's a bit harsh to judge a player that's only had the chance to play a handful of games. People were ragging on Dzeko earlier in the year, but he's been an animal so far this year.
