Re: Mystery Dutchman we missed
No sure, but they just mentioned on Channel 10 News that we are still looking for 2 centrebacks, a playmaker and a low cost striker.
Madaschi and Fyfe would fit the bill, playmaker could be anyone, maybe Ricardo Da Silva from Adelaide City (I hope it's someone more high profile).. Striker will probably be someone like Cristiano or Mimi Saric you would imagine to act as cover for van Dijk and Djite.

I dont think it is a coincidence cristriano came halfway across the world to play in the super leagu.

I wouldn't mind cristano , He would be better playing under rini, just a shame he takes up a visa spot
Re: Mystery Dutchman we missed
Turning 33 this year - perhaps a tad too old? And another striker? I'm more than happy with Djite and Van Dijk.

Re: Mystery Dutchman we missed
My wishlist leading into today was:
* 2 midfielders - half way there with Vidosic; would like to see a creative playmaker hopefully an unknown from South America
* 2 centre backs - Madaschi and/or Fyfe?
Good to see another striker might be scouted for the squad too.

Wow, Vennegoor of Hesselink? Big name (and I mean that both figuratively and literally).. Kind of a bummer that we missed out on the dude with the best name in world football but already have a big Dutch frontman that well and truly does the business... JVoH is (was?) a great player, would probably kill the A-League but in our particular squad I'm not sure how much of a value-add he would be.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Yeah, I think we're covered in front 2 thirds. We just need a CB or two now.Wow, Vennegoor of Hesselink? Big name (and I mean that both figuratively and literally).. JVoH is training with FC Twente to keep fit after being released by Rapid Vienna.
Apparently some Eredivisie clubs chasing him

That sounds promising! Hopefully this means Rini still has healthy contacts at FC Twente.JVoH is training with FC Twente to keep fit after being released by Rapid Vienna.

Re: Mystery Dutchman we missed
JVoH would be a great signing, but I don't think he, nor Djite would be happy sitting on the pine and I don't think either of them should, either.
JVoH would be more suited to a club like Gold Coast, Newcastle or Mebourne Heart where he's more likely to get a starting spot.
If we didn't have Djite, then sure, go for someone like JVoH, but we already have two of the best strikers in the league and this guy won't come cheap.
Better to sign someone from the local league like Cristiano, Mimi Saric or Michael Matricciani who won't demand a high salary and then spend the money we save on a top quality playmaker, two solid centrebacks, and another winger, that we are more in need of.

Matricciani and Da Silva are tearing it up! Matricciani is still only 25, might be worth giving him another shot tbh. Could do with a haircut, though..
