Hey that's a great site Reds Utd. I think we're going to see something like this:

Image

Bench:
- Birighitti
- Watson
- Malik
- Djite

Main problem is that it leaves Djite on the bench. Alternatively you could play a lopsided 442 with one real winger and two front men:

Very unlikely that Rini will budge from 4-3-3. People need to stop being so narrow-minded and start thinking about options other than 4-4-2.
It's not about always going for a 4-4-2, it's about accomodating for the players we now have at our disposal. I think Rini would budge, I mean, he's no stubborn, single-minded Viddie, thank fark! :)

I dunno, Coolen I reckon tries to recruit to a system in exactly the same way Viddie did. That's not necessarily a bad thing - I think it's good to have a clear system in place & recruit players as necessary (with some room for flexibility).

And that was Viddie's downfall, he wasn't flexible at all, he'd stick with the same system, even if it meant we were going to lose. Coolen, on the other hand (I believe) is smarter than that.

I just can't see him benching Djite for the sake of his system tbh.

I'm at a loss to know how best to incorporate Djite into the team without diminishing the strengths we already have tbh (spose that's why i'm not a manager)..

I'd be happy enough with van dijk and djite fighting for one spot tbh. At least that way we're not fucked if one of them gets injured.

Vidmar's main problem was inconsistency with tactics in the league, if anything.

Pretty much. That's the point of depth.

Rini has already said djite would be a starter, that he could slightly modifiy the formation where djite was alittle more advanced and central to play off serg.

We forget that djite is quite mobile and can do more then just hold up the ball.

Depending on the game, ramsay could be subbed on for van dijk and dijte goes into the centre and ramsay on the wing if we need more run , or a straight swap for djite and ramsay.

I want to see birra and eugene fighting for position every game this year

Would love to see barbiero fit all season in the starting line up, he is so under rated but when fit he really does make an impact and i think could be a future captain if he has a good year

cant help but think of 12th man when I see his name...

Yesicanski passes to Noyoucantski, Noyoucantski running with the ball now, finds Spase on Delevski, who passes it back to the australian substitute Smith... I hope I've pronounced that correctly, through ball to Nohecantski, could be risky, he crosses it inski, to Fuckoffyabitch, with a chip over the topovich, makes no mistakeavich, GOALSKI! Australia One nilski!

When did he say that and in what context? I mean, what kind of a manager declares months before the season even begins who is going to start and who isn't?

Doesn't really give the player much insentive to work hard, does it?

Holger Osieck. "I don't need to see Lucas Neill play to select him."

I agree with you, though. Any manager who sets a preference for any players - especially if they make that public - has no right to manage a professional team.
(Or really, for that matter, any team.)

But if he did say that, it completely contradicts what he said in regards to signing depth during the January transfer window.
