Kruse, I think we can aim higher than him. We could say Torres, Rooney, Messi or C/Ronaldo.

The A-League is in danger of losing one of its drawcards after it emerged Adelaide United is prepared to part with star playmaker Marcos Flores if it gets a good enough offer.

The Reds are believed to have put out feelers among some player-agents that the Argentine midfielder, who won the Johnny Warren Medal this month, is up for sale "if the price is right".

Reds chairman Greg Griffin confirmed that the club would not stand in Flores’ way if a big-money offer from Asia materialised in the off-season.

Flores said that, although he did not want to leave Adelaide, he would not dismiss any move to Asia that would advance his career.

"Marcos already has had unofficial offers from Major League Soccer and from Qatar and we certainly would not make it difficult for him to move abroad if the offer is good enough," Griffin told The World Game.

"If something concrete came up and was good for the club we would sit down with Marcos and ask him 'do you want to go?'.

"If he says 'yes' we would see what we can do."

"I had a call from a couple of agents who told me that Adelaide would not oppose a transfer to an Asian club," Flores, who does not have an agent and handles his own affairs, revealed.

"I do not really want to leave Adelaide because it is a good club, I love the city and the fans have been very good to me.

"But as a professional footballer I have to look after myself and do what’s best for me.

"I would love to play in Asia, although I do not have any particular preference.

"The club can sell me and I have no problem with that but the deal must be good for me too."
