I find these sort of things can be quite organic. Often the captain can be choosen with out a word being spoken of it. One player just seems to step up and the rest of the squad just seem to listen and follow.
Hopefully it will be that easy!

What about free range ?
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

Re: Captain for next year??
with Hughes gone (and being my choice for captain) i have been thinking, i would not be suprised if the arm band went to an incoming player. especially if they join the squad early in preseason and truly become an AU player and squad leader before their 1st kick.
my main thinking is because there's no definite man to take on the role, so doubt there will be much uproar if it happened, as well as the fact that our new CB could quite possibily (hopefully) be a leading CB with a lot of football experience.
i'm not sold that Cass can work the media as Captain, and i really don't think Eug would want it.

My personal choice would still be Eugene. Other than that I really don't know who would be a good captain for us now that Dodd, Reid and Hughes are all gone.
