Was Vidmar was right about a Pissant Town
Val Migliacco. He was always involved and has been since Day 1.
Check out the back of today's Advertiser, his "comment" regarding the Dodd situation.
Fact: Travis has been offered the same contract that Van Dijk was offered to stay at Adelaide last year.
I'll let you decide if you think Dodd is worth the same as Van Dijk.

Re: Proof that Vidmar was right about a Pissant Town
LMFAO did you read past the first paragraph?
Val was more or less sticking up for coolen not attacking him, and saying that coolen is trying to create a club that every position is being fought for week in week out as opposed to the old guard believing that own a starting spot .
Your right this does demonstrate where alot of problems come from, people are so quick to judge yet not even read the feaken article

That's from a Richard Earle, he mentions Val and the back page of The Advertiser that's doesn't get delivered to Austria I'm afraid.
" There was, he added, no room for spin, showmanship, hubris or “any of the feelings of invincibility” that so often shackle nations with an imperial past ... " - - -

Not seeing any 'proof' nor any 'facts' in this thread so far, despite claims to the contrary.
Would be pretty interested to read the article though.

I'll retract a fair part of it, but there is a lot inbetween the lines there.
I really dont think he is happy to see the back of Trav, otherwise he'd be bringing up the contract and amounts.

Wow what a joke of a story Val you have sunk to a new low!
Criticizing the way Rini is going about this is like bagging Di Vinci when he's half way through a painting. If Rini makes signings to replace Travis and they turn out shit sure bag him then if you must. But bagging him just for getting rid of someone you have a major man crush on is just sad. The article says move on it doesn't sound like Val has yet!
I would be surprised if Val was getting info from Travis, I have nothing to back up that theory but I wouldn't be surprised if that’s why he's so devo.

Re: Was Vidmar was right about a Pissant Town
Same old story. As soon as there's a bit of bad news everyone turns on everyone else and the whole fucking place self-destructs.
Aloisi/Kosmina/Vidmar/Costanzo/Cornthwaite/Valkanis/Hughes/Pantelis/Reid/
Dodd/Coolen/Board members/Owners/Football department/FFA/Media/Fitness staff/Red Army/etc - there always has to be a scapegoat.
Team and player form slumps, player unrest, coaches making unpopular decisions, greedy player agents, Board incompetence, bungling governing bodies - these are problems that afflict every single football club in the world at some time. Yes people need to be held accountable, but not every piece of bad news is evidence of the end of the world...

Re: Was Vidmar was right about a Pissant Town
I'm struggling to see what all the fuss is about, a new coach has come in and moved on a couple of the older players with an eye on the future. I think a lot of people are trying to look for a story when there isn't one.
I'm a Crows fan as well. I remember when Malcolm Blight came in, he got rid of a bunch of the old players, including the captain and fan favorites, causing shock and outrage...next year (and the year after) they won the flag.

Re: Was Vidmar was right about a Pissant Town
Well said. I've always said Rini should be given time to build his own squad- Viddie did set the wheels in motion by signing Flores and Van Dijk, two players around which this new team is being built. If replacements are at a better level more suited to an improving A-League, United can only benefit.I'm struggling to see what all the fuss is about, a new coach has come in and moved on a couple of the older players with an eye on the future. i think you got a little too worked up after the first paragraph and dismissed the rest of the article. Just looking for any opportunity to jump on Val.
