The only problem I've ever had with Dodd's game is his penchant for taking air swings. But he's been connecting with the ball 9/10 in recent weeks. Fitness (injury wise, not stamina) could also be an issue, but i've seen nothing that couldn't be treated over an offseason.

Terrible news really, the only way the Reds can come out ahead of this is if someone sabotages Leckie's medical.

Bye.

The "will he or wont he go to glory" pretty much killed out finals campaign.

Thanks travis.

Although I would have liked travis to stay...
Didn't deserve a 2 year deal
Didn't deserve a pay rise.
Good decision for both parties.

Reid can fuck off

I am sure there is more to all this than meets the eye.

Have heard some very disturbing rumours about the club today.

Disturbing rumours are always true. I'll make one up now.

Adelaide United to become "Selling club" in order to become a profitable business. Signing free-agent south americans/europeans to 2 year deals to put them in the shop window for richer Japanese and Korean clubs for . Sell for profit after first year of contract. Avoid keeping older local players around so you can use the occasional random skillful youngster as a hedge, in case of a bad crop of imports.

Dodd/Reid are gone, many other experienced players expected to be shown the door. Fyfe sold suddenly due to unusually high offer. Unnecessary, and unusually young for A-league, import signings suddenly appearing mid-season.

Many people will tell you to be skeptical of induction. They are closed minded. Good old fashion Logical-Positivism tells you that this theory is obviously verified and therefore true.

Pretty much true and confirmed by United at the FFSA meeting.

Apparently Reid wasn't the only player who had a contract offer withdrawn on Monday.....

Y r ppl so scared of Adelaide actually developing into a successfully run football club?

Lets look at the outs: Owusu, Shin, Dodd, Reid, Leckie, Fyfe (possibly: Lucas, Monty, Costa)

Ins: Caravella, Ususcar, Slory, Bodrusic, Malik.

We lost three 30+ players and replaced them with players in their early/late 20s.

Is it really that bad folks?

In the paper today, Dodd blames Rini. on FIVEaa last night, Dodd says Rini wanted to keep him but board wouldn't up offer and that both Petrillo and Coolen said they would take the perth offer.

So what is it Travis? Board or Coolen?

I think all of the above. But i really think the whole thing will work out good for all. Dodd gets his money and year in contract. Coolio gets his space in the cap and the board hopefully get a young player they can transfer to a year or two for a healthy profit!

Story I heard was Dodd went in to discuss contract terms etc on Monday and was told their offer was no longer available and that he should take Perth's offer.

So you would think a player that Rini is after has in some way committed to the club. Yay

Would Dodd have taken AUFC's offer if Perth hadn't offered him and inflated wage rise? More than likely, yes.

So in other words, the club really didn't do anything wrong. They offered Dodd the same terms plus a coaching option. He took the pay rise and fair enough.
