This is the first i'm hearing of it! Hopefully no truth to it!
We didn't underestimate them. They were just a lot better than we thought. - Sir Bobby Robson
Re: Van Dyke
I saw the promo too.......... and then there were no strikers. Still waiting for the story.
Re: Van Dyke
The words they used were that he has asked to be put up for sale.

Re: Van Dijk
What the? Hope it is just for the off-season and he'll be back in Reds colours again come August.
Go the Reds!
Re: Van Dyke
Do you really blame him? It's a bloody long time between drinks.
He's better off playing match football.

Shano. Red to the core.
Re: Van Dyke
That's what he said in the interview. Gives whoever we get as a second striker a chance in the friendlies too.

Re: Van Dyke
Ive heard there is massive money over there, when does he want to leave? Surely not before the end of the season!?
Surely a loan deal could be arranged? We have him locked into a 3year deal with 2 years remaining. What happens at the end of the indo season when more clubs want him and offer him much bigger money and the club then misses out on a very tasty transfer fee.
I understand him wanting to go over there but releasing our highest paid player and risking a mega transfer fee just isnt smart, i cant see this happening

Re: Van Dyke
Yeah he wants a short term loan deal to an Indonesian club in the off-season, and thats fair enough. Id prefer him to keep his form and fitness up than not play any competitive football for months.
Also, his name is spelt like this....Van Dijk....not Van Dyke lol

Re: "Van Dijk"
The flip side is sergio is massively paid , he takes a huge chunk out of the salary cap.
If it became a deal that he leaves for good a big tranfer fee would be expected, and dare i say a marquee striker in his place

Re: "Van Dijk"
If he goes on loan, they pay his wages and he turbo boosts United's profile in Indonesia then it's a win-win situation.
(Could also be indirect a bit of extra cash for the club)
Why not?
As long as his middle term future is still with United.
