@Matchday Jamboree: Gold Coast United v Adelaide United

Postby David Votoupal Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:30 pm

How important is this game? Very, very important. If AU lose this one they might as well kiss goodbye to 2nd place. Gold Coast are also looking over their shoulder because Melbourne Victory could overhaul them into 4th place.

Gold Coast also welcome back Smeltz, Caravella, Pantelidis and Harold. Adelaide United bring in Slory and Malik.

Earlier this season, the match up there finished 0-0. AU were without Flores that day too. Gold Coast are definitely beatable.

im expecting an end to end game.

Both clubs need to win, and AU will have 2 very fast wingers on the bench regardless who they might be.

I think we might see leckie start and come off around 55/60 minutes and slory to come on for him

who is out? ramsay and pantelis? surely we wont have pantelis/ramsay and slory on the pine/plastic garden chairs?

looking forward to slory playing, he better be good. holding on to that faint glimmer of hope that 9/9 points might sneak us into top spot on GD.

GCU/Nix/MV - no doubt about it, all 3 are must wins starting with tonight.

in comparison CCM have heart/GCU/Newcastle quite similar fixtures for both teams.

both play a GCU at skilled, both play a team fighting desperately for that last finals spot and both finish with a major rivalry fixture at home. hopefully the other teams watched us on saturday and learnt how not to play against CCM.

Bottom line is that we have to win. Mathematically we can drop as low as 5th for the finals, if we play like we did Saturday anything is possible.

I felt for Lucas. I saw on the news that he was in the photo with Euge and Flakes for his 100th appearance. But when he got cut out of the squad he got cut out of the story.

According to the paper Rambo is in the squad too

The centre of defence worries me, both Cornthwaite and Boogard arent overly quick....the sooner either Malik or Bodrusic come in a replace Cornthwaite the better.....also, i really hope Reid starts ahead of Usucar....

nearby? i think the distance between McKay (the southern edge of the cyclone) and the Gold Coast is around 1000kms, furhter than Adelaide to Melbourne, so i think it wouldn't have an effect on the game? :?
