Owusu was primarily injured and the other two you mentioned did some good stuff for us, Jamo was on fire in our Club World Championship campaign. To be honest I primarily remember those that contributed and would need prompting to remember those who failed to contribute.

In terms of value for money, Paul Agostino.

The club SHOULD have known for a long time that he was prone to being crocked. He certainly did not deserve the status and pay packet of a marquee.

If you remember V2 well, Kosmina was roundly criticised for playing his favourites regardless of form, not least of which was Ross Aloisi.

I don't think the criticisms of them were unfair. Both players were painfully past it, and still being picked regardless of their lack of form and detrimental effect it was having on the team's play. Remember the game against NZ knights, when Aloisi and Romario were taken off there were cheers from the crowd, and the team's performance improved sufficiently to salvage a point.

United's performances, that season, were so average that it took a good deal of luck to get to the Grand Final, where a right royal hammering was dished out.

Cornthwaite is by no means the worst, Hughes has improved a great deal. I'd say Hughes has redeemed himself this season with his improvement.

Vidmar's relationship with the fans, media, etc was never too rosy. In fact, his appointment was never fully accepted from the start and tolerated at best. In fact, Ange Postecoglou was a candidate for the job before Vidmar got it, hindsight and all...

It was Kosmina that should have (and did, to an extent) cop the criticism for Aloisi and Veart getting as much game time as they did near the end. Both very good players in their prime, and good leaders, whose performances were starting to deteriorate - yet Kossie preferred to stick with them rather than give the team a necessary shakeup.

Cornthwaite and Hughes were scapegoats for the frustrated ire of many fans at times (including me). Yes they deserved some criticism but nowhere near the venom that they copped from some fans. Hughes has definitely redeemed himself, Corny still splits opinion but I think his heart & effort, and the fact that he has put in some absolutely rock solid performances at times, means that fans are a little less quick to give him a flogging these days.

Vidmar may not be the greatest manager ever but he did take us nearly all the way against Melbourne and in the ACL. The big slide in his third season was his downfall but it happens all the time in the football - the reasons were not all his own doing, yes, in hindsight we needed that shakeup but I think he still deserves respect for what he achieved.
