Why another central midfielder?
I mean, sounds good and Flores probably had some say in recruiting him, but i think we are getting light on at the tip.

this signing makes me doubt that Keenan will take Shin's place. we need a striker. maybe we are looking at an Australian striker tho, hopefully not Griffiths.

Interesting signing, keen to see how he fits in at Adelaide
Personally I'd like to see a new Defender more than a new striker, our defensive line is our weakest spot in the team I think, but that said Fransisco might prove to be quite valuable in bothing moving forwards and backwards, good signing I think

Re: Reds sign Francisco "Pancho" Usucar
from the 2 videos i've seen, i'm positive. not to mention that i'm sure Flores played a part in this, whom is a football mind we trust!
he looks like he can easily handle the physical nature of the A-League, good at moving the ball from the back and creating an attack, and good at winning the ball in the centre. appears more defensive than Flores, which will come in handy!
EDIT: just in time for our big matches against Roar at home and Victory away too... i've known about this signing for the whole of 15 minutes... trying not to get too excited just yet!

More of a Defensive Midfielder, looks good at reading the ball too. Interesting indeed!
Shano. Red to the core.

good age, am waiting with anticipation to see how he shapes up and how Coolen tends to use him.

For those also interested -
'Pancho': (orig. nickname for the first name "Francisco") crying or complaining, used with the verb "hacer" i.e. "tu haces mucho pancho!" meaning "you do a lot of complaining."
and the all important Football Manager rating:

Re: Reds sign Francisco "Pancho" Usucar
so does that mean he's a whinger?
from watching youtube vids he looks like a great midfield defender, winning the ball back before it even manages to get to the defensive line. Looks like he could be a dangerous combo with Flores actually

It's just a common nickname for Francisco. Just like Pepe is for Jose etcso does that mean he's a whinger?

Re: Reds sign Francisco "Pancho" Usucar
And geez he looked pretty sharp in that match for Uruguay (presumably it was an underage game?). Played some really nice balls forward. Also looks like he doesn't shy away from a tackle.
Let's hope he's another Carl Veart gem and not a YouTube flop.

High hopes or not?
Re: Francisco ``Pancho'' Usucar
Looks like a holding mid fielder ala Adam Hughes.
May work very well with Flores or could be a replacement for him .. Hope not.
But it is good to know we can draw young South Americans which is great for the likes of HYL, Mullen & Birighitti and the league in general.
High hopes.
