I agree that it is nice to have the three points however it was a rather pedestrian game. We should have buried a number of chances however there weren't the numbers in the box.

Oh well all, it's good night from Cambodia - Friday beers await

three points- 2 goals.
For a moment there i thought we were going to go for the jugular but we took the foot of the pedal and slowly let NQF into the game.

Nevertheless
7 home games won!

Great stuff by anyones standards!

Good weekend all!

United did what they had to do. Seven straight at home is brilliant.

Good effort by the lads tonight. Did what they had to do. After 2 early goals, the team sat back and absorbed some pressure then tried to go for a third late in the second half, this is how to beat teams like the fury, who never gave up until the end, even though they offered little up front.

Same nice play between flores, reid and dodd tonight.
We are UNITED, after all....

getting sick of hearing people in the stands give it to pantelis, and say ramsay should be starting.

Ramsays only real role is to stick out wide and get on the end of a through ball as the opposition are pushing men up late in the game giving him space.

Pantelis is given alot more responsibility, while i agree he is frustrating we generally has something to do with most of our goals!.

I actually liked this ref, he wasnt to bad!!

saw my first lady reds game, it doesnt feel right to have a go at them because they are semi professional and well.. girls but the brissy girls look fit and strong, most of our dont, i can understand why they dont win.

Also, how serious is this W-league? our keeper couldnt jump 30cm off the ground if she had to there must be someone better out there? surely there is a fitter more athletic keeper about the place? ex netballer/basketballer?

gold coast v newcastle

Sydney v brisbane

if goldy lose, you would have to say 2nd place is fairly safe for us, at very least for the next month.

if brisbane lose they are 4 points up on us but we have a 2 game advantage

interesting weekend

our keeper is woeful. i agree, can't understand why she gets the gig. i was watching the reserve keep at half time and although she was under much less pressure just training, she looked a lot better. the team seems good, some great individual players, but the team doesn't seem to gel. possibly issues behind closed doors? Cockayne seems like a great player, making great runs, a little too quiet, needed to call more, but still, the ball was never sent down the left to her... seemed suss... she was getting frustrated.

as mentioned, Cassio did have a quiet one for his standards, but still did what needed to be done. he wasn't pressured all that much, and got himself an assist. don't think anything bad of it tho, still solid.

it was great to see Dodd stick out the 90 minutes, but then on the other hand he was well beyond buggered by about the 65th minute. it was good to see him stay out there, but if Pants was fully fit and Flores wasn't an automatic definite sub (hopefully come finals he can play a full 90 as well), he would of come off. showed signs that he still indeed has it tho!

i came away disappointed with the final score, seeing as we were 2-0 up in the 15th and had plenty of chances to demolish the Fury. i won't sneeze too much at a win and clean sheet, but let's be honest, Brisbane would have had 6 by half time... we need to dominate sides, to prove to ourselves that we can take a side like Brisbane on.

was a good effort but ye, as many have said, if we'd have kept up our form from the first half an hour or so we'd have absolutely smashed the fury.

Team seemed to fall asleep towards the end and Dodd looked buggered, when he was accepting passes in open space for clear runs he'd instead touch the ball and wait for someone else to pass to without really moving at all, he was basically a statue by the end from his fatigue.

Thought Sergio had a good game, lots of passes being made from him that I thought were out of reach or too congested.

Think Keenan deserves more time on the pitch, possibly as a sub for Dodd, he seems to be good at opening opportunities when given the chance to go forward.

What drove me crazy was the defensive line constantly passing backwards and between each other for no apparent reason. They'd standing with the ball with no pressure and then pass it to someone who had a player right on top of them, causing a pass back to the keeper. Seemed foolish to me it's like they were scared to move the ball forward whenever they got it, especially in the 2nd half. This caused a lot of mistakes that a better opposition would have capatilised on.
