Well up til this game I held hope we could catch the Roar, 3 wins would've put us ahead... but too late now unless Roar hits a bad run.
As much as I hate to say it, MV were cheated out of their win... and we were cheated out of a draw. No fault of either the Roar or Phoenix players, all to do with shoddy refs.

Peter "one-eye" O'Leary.
If Dodd's red does not get over-turned there is something very wrogn with the system. He clearly did his absolute best to avoid (and I think even succeeded) contact with Lia. How that can be ANY card, let alone a red, is just madness. Put that up against SewerRat Sukha's tackle on Leckie and know that he didn't even get a yellow for that one. Something is not right.

What a dirty dirty few days, aust lose world cup bid, bris jag a arsey draw and now adelaide lose in the 94th mon is a disgraceful effort by the boys in the last half and the worst ref call i have seen since the grand final last year. we are back with the pack now, fighting it out with gold coast and ccm for 2nd spot. bris have top spot in the bag. all over red rover!
I WANT A GRAND FINAL WIN GOD DAMMIT!!! NO SECOND PRIZE!!

Shit... we didn't come out for the second half.
Our first touch seems to be severely lacking though. Very heavy with no control. Dodd, Serg, Flores all guilty.
I'm also concerned about the depth of our squad - we essentially had nothing to bring on off the bench.

No Way!all over red rover!
Thers still more then 10 games left in the season for most teams and exactly 10 for the roar, we have to games in hand, and i think we can catch them, but of course the roar will need to slip up for us to overtake them, which is possible.
Not a disgrace to lose away to wellington, just a shame it was in the last seconds. With several shocking ref calls turning the game.
We are UNITED, after all....

I agree about not being out of it. We have 12 more games with 8 of those at home. This season our home form has been excellent so we still have to be in with a chance. Having said that the two down sides are:No Way!all over red rover!

1. Brisbane is in better form than us (or anyone) and its hard to see them slipping up from here,
2. We almost certainly have to pencil in our 2 remaining fixtures against MVC as losses.
Having said the above it isn't over until the fat lady sings and I hope we get back on track this Friday at home againt NQF.

The question is not did we deserve a result.
The real question is how many game this season have been decided or influenced by the refs,
this really is appauling

Re: Round 17: Wellington
I agree, the ref was quite terrible. Utterly inconsistent and that red card was nothing. Barely a free.
BUT. We lost this match fair and square. Played a disinterested game, got caught flat footed a lot, and Marcos, apart from one ball, was quite useless losing possession. We're starting to play that defensive-counter attack style of play and I'm not liking it.
We can go on about the refs as much as we like but that's just deflecting from the fact we were ordinary. On the basis of this game we aren't contenders for the Premiership.

Agreed.BUT. We lost this match fair and square.
Agreed, but one game doesn't make a season. With 2 home games coming up we have a chance to re-kick start things. On the basis of this game we aren't contenders for the Premiership.
The thing with this season that is different to last is that we can string more than 1 win together and irrespective of a few losses, win count is a major factor in where you end up.

I still hold hope for the premiership,
we only dropped 1 point to brisbane, not 3 , if it was for the ref in that game they actually would have lost also.
10 games left, 2 wins and 1 point from brisbane, it can be done.
Top 2 is imperative though, as we will likely just have to make the grandfinal to win an ACL berth and thats very important.
I am really hoping some big $$$ tranfers come real early in january

Do not fret. Anything this season is a massive improvement on last season to start with.
