Re: Who's signed for next season
He scored against Real Madrid in the La Liga, must be a top quality striker, we can still be champions.
More seriously he does have a big leap on him and a powerful header but also an ability to turn wayward crosses in with his feet. Probably the best header at goals the team has ever had. Neither Djite or van Dijk were good in the air, Pablo was better than both of them.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I'd be very keen for a CAM from the J-League. In terms of technical ability, the J-League is miles ahead of us, so I'd imagine a Japanese CAM would do well in our system.
we da best
Re: Who's signed for next season
I'm a little disappointed that we have missed out on the European midfielder. It's a shame that buying players and paying out their contracts counts towards the salary cap here. Hopefully it's something the FFA will look at in the next few years. Also Iniesta happens to go off contract in 18 months, not saying it was him but you know, it clearly was.

Seems like a good striker.
Pity about the AM. I wonder who it was.
We need some midfield reinforcements very soon.
And can we resign Choi now he is an Aussie? Wingers are all of a sudden in short supply.

On one hadn i cannot understand why we let henrique go, he was one of the few shining lights in our 11.
On the other hand its seems a good sign as the club is committed to turning over the squad in order to find success.
Signings are desperately needed though.
there seems to be much interest from rural thai clubs for our players, mark bridge is also at chiang rai and djite was chased by sukhothai .

Also this striker on paper probably has the best pedigree in the league.
However lets not get our hooes up just yet, i wonder how long he has signed on for

If it's another loan deal I'm going to be pleasantly disappointed.

I disagree about Henrique, he certainly has had 3 or 4 brilliant games but his others have been okay at best. Far too inconsistent, generally a liability defensively, seems to drift centrally far too often to be playing as a winger. I don't think he is going to be missed that much although it coinciding with Miluesnic and Kitto doing their hamstrings is a bit unfortunate. On one hadn i cannot understand why we let henrique go, he was one of the few shining lights in our 11.

Re: Who's signed for next season
3 or 4 brilliant games puts him so far ahead of most of our other players that losing him is a disaster. He was one of the very few players who showed he cared. On Sunday he was the only player who saw the potential breakaway for the second goal and chased like his life depended on it while the actual defenders were having a chat at the other end. He showed pace, tenacity and heart and almost saved us the goal. Obviously we have seen his contribution differently but I'd say this is a complete mess and we're down to playing our second rung of young players who haven't yet proven they can cut it at this level.
Seriously, without four decent signings we are dead in the A-League and will be frighteningly outclassed in the ACL - but we probably will be anyway. But there's no use in last-minute, desperate signings this year. I'd rather the club took a serious look at building the right squad for next year. I'll be at every game to cheer whoever we have on the field. I'l just need an extra beer or two for the rest of this season I think.

I find this statement bizarre, Djite I agree with but Van Dijk? While in his last season he lost some leap and movement into the box I would rate him as one of the best aerial forwards the league has seen.Neither Djite or van Dijk were good in the air

Agree on Pablo's aerial work totally also, for a small guy he was excellent with positioning, timing and showed bags of courage. I really miss the little guys passion also.

Upon reflection, both Holland and Guardiola weren't working so is it really that bad we are losing them? It's not like we can go any further south.
And Henrique, whilst a tidy player, really could only play well for parts of a game. Showed why he was only a sub at Brisbane when he left (IMO).

Re: Who's signed for next season
Yes he did chase for the second goal and it was an excellent effort, but he did not chase for the first goal when his direct opponent broke forward. He was far from the only one at fault for that goal, Marrone's effort was very poor in particular, but chasing Boyd could have made a big difference. He has been far too loose on opponents defensively a lot this season preferring to sit inside and just let them run down the wing unattended. It was also very weird to see a right winger drop back in between the CBs to receive the ball like he did a couple of times on Sunday. There have also been many occasions this season when Henrique has for some reason appeared on the opposite side of the field to where he has been playing leading to both wingers being on the same side of the field.3 or 4 brilliant games puts him so far ahead of most of our other players that losing him is a disaster. As far as signing goes, yes we need more to do anything in the ACL, but the side we have should be doing much better in the A-league. In my view it is being poorly coached, there is a real lack of direction and purpose in the play going forward and defensively we lack organisation. A lot of the blame for that needs to go to Amor.

The clubs is active in rejuvenating the squad. However there is no room for excuses now with potential signings that may fall though. It really is all or nothing at this stage.
To be frank though the club cant expect people to actually turn up to the next home game if we are playing second string youth players. We have a striker with good pedigree now find us a mid and lets see what happens.
We are still very bare out wide though. Henrique was a great signing because he counted as an aussie for acl. We really have no choice now but to take cirio to asia and drop la rocca and even still we have no real threat on the right.
