I hope there is more than just one Spaniard arriving.

Yeah we need about 3-4 decent players, one will be yet another example of promising signings and delivering potatoes. Just like post Redlands loss in the cup, Mayer promised the players signings were imminent according to elrichs direct quote.

We wait and see. McGree had a good game today. Marino did no worse than our other strikers. Hopefully get another chance next week. Milo also did alright. Cirio played a better number ten than Carrusca this year. I would like to see him stay there.
Re: Who's signed for next season
i dare say the spanish player and AM are one and the same. he's a bit old but I'd put oney on Victor Vazquez. He came through Barca youth and played for the B team, he is a free agent since Jan 1st. He also played for Brugge while Matt Ryan was there so he might have some good ideas of Australia.

A quality striker is a must, and would allow our other players to play in their favoured positions, with Marino for striker backup.

IMO it really depends on what system Amor has planned.
If he hopes to stay with a more counter attacking game plan then an out-and-out striker isn't critical IMO. I'd be happy with (for example) someone like Burns who can play as a striker, winger or #10.
As I've said, chance creation is AU's true issue. A quality AM that can string games together is what AU needs most.

So Val says a Senegalese striker who is currently playing in Europe, and a European player with an Asian passport coming in...

Good.
I think Marino showed yesterday why he's not been in the squad this year.

I'd argue that a genuine striker who would finish some of our clear cut chances would be more useful. But i'd take anyone at this stage.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Dunno, that feels a bit harsh. He was no less effective than anyone else - and not HAL match-fit.Good.

Henrique was surely never meant to be a starter. I'd rather see a three with O'Doherty starting with Cirio and Marino/Senegalese striker.
It's been a real almost season - McGree, O'Doherty, Kitto, Holland...all almost good enough to have a real impact but not quite ready or able. Mells has taken the Scott Jamieson route of coming from an English youth set-up and seemingly getting worse away from that level of focus and work.
Carrusca has almost been not injured, and then almost been effective when he wasn't. Eugene has almost looked like himself, but been slightly off (to be fair he's been so consistantly good for so long now it probably looks worse when he has a 'normal' season for a GK).
Still, there's hope while signings are (possibly) imminent and then ACL so we carry on.

Re: Who's signed for next season
That's true, and it was a harsh thing to say given all our senior players are misfiring.Dunno, that feels a bit harsh. He was no less effective than anyone else - and not HAL match-fit.Good.
I think Marino showed yesterday why he's not been in the squad this year.
But there have been people pumping his tyres up about being our saviour and that's patently not the case, not great touch and not much presence (the assist aside).
