Frustrating to limit Sydney so much and then concede like that, but Strain had been cooked on this wing for a while, always taking the option of pressing the man with the ball when he should have either stayed with his man. First half he was doing both, press the ball then chase back. But he'd stopped chasing back. Opened that passage down the line with Ninkovic pressing highe and wider.

When you look at the sfc starting team you realise they wont play that flat again for some time. Glad we got a point and glad the crowd managed to reach 10k

First half was magnificent defensively. The high pressing was a nice wrinkle and super effective, created some nice turnovers up the pitch and really smothered them. Unfortunately, whether it was just physical or by instruction, as soon as we sat off we just gave them a foothold back into the game.

On the other side...I’m trying to resist the urge to go completely off the deep end considering it’s only round one, but my god we are absolutely dreadful in possession. Can not manufacture any decent attacking combinations to save ourselves.
