We still have to again play Newcastle away and Brisbane at home, both bogey match-ups.

On the plus side we have another trip to Sydney FC, host WSW next weekend and MV at Hindmarsh not long after that.

I am confident we'll beat MV at home - they've taken two points here in five years.

EDIT: We will finish Round 17 in THIRD place. Beating Perth will leave us a point off top/second, where Perth and Victory are on equal points (Victory are top on GD).
Adelaide United FC: our club, our city, our state.

So mv are away to Brisbane and glory are away to city.

We could make some ground up this week, either way it needs to start happening !!

... and it will. I just did the FFA's 'finals predictor' thing again and I still had us on top after Rd 22 or 23. Presumably JG and his backroom staff have done something similar, which is why they were not too concerned after Perth's escape yesterday. They know that we have the easiest run of all the top 4 sides.

Some other points from the finals predictor - Brisbane will just sneak into the six over Melbourne City and the Sopwith Camels will only win one match at most for the rest of the season. Oh and the Failure will be third - which, if it comes to pass, will make some of those Failure bogans throw their VB cans out the Kingswood window.
"Hang on, lads; I've got a great idea".

The problem is we get ourselves into a good position to make up ground - or even go clear on top of the table but then drop points against teams we really should beat. Losing to Newcastle and Central Coast being prime examples. Thankfully others around us have also dropped points so we're still around the mark.

This week against City for example is exactly the kind of game we're prone to losing ie a game against mediocre opposition that would put us on top of the ladder - for a day at least.

Perth have taken only 3 points out of a possible 15 in the last 5 games and we're still behind them :bang:

This! The only one who will stop us from winning the league this season is ourselves. Not one team has been able to dominate us for the full 90, nor 45 for that matter. We're our biggest enemy atm.

From having a chance to top the league last night, we are now 3 points from 5th.

Gotta love the aleague

Perth are gone for me.

It's a race between Adelaide, Sydney, Welly & Victory with Victory in pole position.

This is a little self-deprecating but I'd put us last in that 4. We have too many must win games against all these guys over the next 5 weeks and our record in winning those sorts of games is abysmal.

Sorry guys but you all need a spoon full of cement.

We are three points from perth, they play mv and wellington in the next 2 weeks.

It is not impossible that we could be on top of the league next week with a big win.

We have 3 key players returning in the coming weeks.

The premiership is no more out of reach for us then any other top 5 club.

Not sure ive heard fans from any of the other top 5 clubs question their managers ability or give up hope for the premiership just yet.

Also for all the talk about us not having quality at the back or being to attack minded , we actually have the tightest defence in the league.

Anything can happen in the aleague

Janko is in top form, anything is possible while he keeps up that form. Keogh got Perth to the top, Janko might do something similar with Sydney.

I get the feeling this league will be decided on the last day of round 27
