We run into trouble when we park the bus or decide to stop attacking. We need to play our game, which involves primarily clogging up the centre of the pitch, opening up the wings and putting lots of crosses in. I'd go with basically the XI that Martin had, with a lot of positional 'musical chairs' from the front 4.

------------------------Izzo--------------------
Marrone-----Elsey-----Jakobsen----Galloway
-------------------Isaias---Lia---------------------
Kitto------------------Halloran-------Goodwin
--------------------------Ilso-------------------------

Strain / Mileusnic / Konsta / Stama / Richards

You've hit the nail on the head there Old Gregg. We looked so much better with a fluid front line of Halloran and Ilso last week, with both of them taking turns dropping deeper or making runs. It must've confused the fark out of the Brisbane CB's.

Until we sign a true No.10 I think the best bet is to play with a front 2 with lots of movement.

I wonder if their forum members have tracked and measured how long referees blow for fouls against their team.

I think Kurz mentioned in the interview that the trick is to find the balance between stopping them playing while at the same time playing our own game.

I dont think we are playing too bad at all....i just see a whole different level in mvfc. They have probably the best squad on paper i have ever seen in the a league. We tend to bottle it against them at etihad. Our defence have not conceded much but i again think the way mvfc play may expose some holes. They transition so quickly and as seen with the henrique goal last week we looked seriously caught out.
I hope its just that dreaded feeling of playing at etihad or whatever its called now, after so many bad losses there. Put on top of that the dread of having shaun evans in charge.
As for being aware of the referees maneurisms, thats something i always look for in officials and how they control a game. It stands out to me in a big way ever since the club requested he not officiate our games. Some refs are incompetent and others are unable to remove emotion, shaun is both in my eyes.

Na he's just poking fun that Jakobsen also left the club (which he didn't).
