"Visibly stressed" and "close to tears" when confronted by media.
Hope he can recover from this. We need him in the right frame of mind as he's a key forward for us now.
Pretty pissed off at Durante, Herbert and all the fox sports commentators bagging Jerry - has obviously affected him even though he's been cleared.
Fingers crossed it all goes away.

Re: Jeronimoooooooo Appreciation Thread
hoorible to think its affecting him so badly but tbh, i think this reaction from all sections of Australian Football will in the long run help our game and get rid of simulation.
In Australia footy just isn't played that way and for it to flourish with new supporters simulation needs to be shunned and players who dive to get the message that we will not stand for it.
i remember all those games in the ACL where opposition fall over at the slightest touch and mates laughing at our code about it.
Jero is a champion striker and the foul was there but his dive has tarnished his rep.

For something that happens every other week I think the media witchhunt has been shameful and personal. For no apparent reason, too. Jeronimo seems like a perfectly nice guy and it's fair to say his teammates would have told him it is not on, happened to Flores and a few others in early days too.
The foul was always there, and as a last man it was a red.

You would think also that the newspaper journalist would write something positive 4 a change,is it any wonder we get limited coverage when one compares the journalist 4 aussie rules with the one for soccer .
but then again the news corporation and foxtel are both in it for the money

Re: Jeronimoooooooo Appreciation Thread
I feel very bad for Jero. In Argentina not much would have been made about it and everyone would just move on. Would have been such a shock and so overbearing for him to go from flying under the radar in a new country to being public shamed and persecuted by everyone. With no one taking the time to really see it from his point of view. Some players may have the mental toughness to deal with this kind of attention, some don't. This is the time for the rest of the team to really get behind and support him. Hopefully he just tries to move on, concentrate on our next match and produce such a performance that it will shut everyone up.

Re: Jeronimoooooooo Appreciation Thread
What are the odds we are going to see a Suarez celebration from him if he scores?
Time to Djbate!
Re: Jeronimoooooooo Appreciation Thread
He doesn't seem like the kind of personality to just shake this one off. I think this will have really gotten him down.
I'm worried that this will prompt him not to stay at Adelaide for another season.

Well as long as we make it known next home game we still love him! I don't see why he would worry too much!

The thing I would worry about with (non-faking) players that go down easy in such situations is the potential to spurn easy but high-pressure chances in favour of falling over and letting someone else take the free kick/penalty not have to risk scrutiny.
Pretty certain Jeronimo isn't one to waste such chances voluntarily though.

I agree, one thing you can say about Jero is he ain't afraid to have a crack at goal when he gets a sniff.

Re: Jeronimoooooooo Appreciation Thread
Adelaide United players have rallied around Argentine attacker Jeronimo Neumann to shield him from the fallout of the A-League's diving controversy.
Neumann's teammates believe the in-form striker hasn't been adversely affected by being branded a cheat by Wellington Phoenix for an alleged dive in Saturday's Hindmarsh Stadium fixture.
"I don't think it will affect him at all. If you look into our training, he's his normal self and enjoying it," Adelaide star Dario Vidosic told reporters on Thursday.
"In football, these things always happen and, in the end, a decision was made and I think it was the correct decision. We're all around him and said not to worry - it will all work out, and it has. He has got all our support."

Rumours in the paper that he is close to signing a 2 year extension.
Nice.
