Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
Also this weekend we'll find out who the 11th placed NPL club will be if AU ends up coming 2nd.
Although there are rumours AU will get promoted regardless although based on where these rumours are coming from I would associate this with sour grapes.

Rumours from the asylum? A couple of those guys believe that the FFSA scuttling the Enfield deal is proof that FFSA are supporting Adelaide United. Tin foil hat brigade. Also this weekend we'll find out who the 11th placed NPL club will be if AU ends up coming 2nd.

If we don't win promotion we play State League next year again; simple as that.

Obviously promotion is a huge priority it will certainly be much harder to get promoted next season.

Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
Is it really best they get promoted?
I would imagine they are best suited to playing in a league that will test them but would also be able to actually they the style the club is trying to implement.
Im not saying one way or another, just wondering how much of a jump the NPL is and can these kids have a hope in controlling portions of the game ?
I imagine the cream would ruse to the too while other players may struggle.

Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

The tin hat ppl suggest that "AU boys will be no match for the men in the NPL, they will be pushovers!" *futbol_crazy mimics FN in an overly manly voice*
I have my doubts about that. We may not be top of the NPL, but we have the cream of the crop, at least at home, we'll be able to play our brand of football. The players will continue developing.

Cove stumbled against Hills last night, went down 2-1. That leaves Olympic in the chasing pack.

Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
It's not actually much of a jump from the top of State League to the middle of NPL with relegation often being the result of bad luck more than rubbish play. Their biggest danger will be full sized men choosing to be un-necessarily physical (ie, dirty) and refs who either don't look after the players or refs who go too far the other way and treat them like they're glass princesses. Unfortunately, in their first season, they will be a target. In five years time, we won't be having these worries and they'll just get hacked and suffer dismal refereeing performances like everyone else but they'll have to earn acceptance from the rest of the competition. If they expect to thump the likes of Metro and Beagles, they're seriously delusional but they should fit well into the top tier... provided they accept that they aren't something special, that they're just another football team.

Yeah I very much doubt anyone thinks they'll be pumping sides like this season IF they get promoted. It's not actually much of a jump from the top of State League to the middle of NPL with relegation often being the result of bad luck more than rubbish play. I'd imagine IF they are promoted survival next season would be the top priority results wise.

Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
Looking comfortable and finishing mid table would be a successful season for any club being promoted. Second or third season aim for the finals. THEN they can dominate the league for a record number of consecutive seasons. Are they allowed to be the first NPL team to win the FFA Cup?Yeah I very much doubt anyone thinks they'll be pumping sides like this season IF they get promoted. It's not actually much of a jump from the top of State League to the middle of NPL with relegation often being the result of bad luck more than rubbish play. No Twitter of today's game v Salisbury? Hopefully then it is being recorded for Youtube given it's a home game.

I know they still record the matches though.
BTW the 11th place club in the NPL has been decided. Port Pirates will play the 2nd placed State league club.

Both Cumby and Olympic won. So a result for AU is critical.
