Oshea off the apex. Oooh, too close for comfort.

Agree. Would have to be our weakest position. No creativity whatsoever. The Newcastle game had me hoping we might see our midfield not be a completely dysfunctional mess. The City game and tonight have subsequently severely dampened those hopes.

Kitto down the in the box appeal for a penalty and the commentators are saying Brisbane is getting lucky.

Cavallo with a shot that hits the side netting.

Ah bugger. 1-2 to Brisbane.
We need some transitional spice in the midfield.

Just not our night. Any other day Hiroshi gets a yellow and we might get a different outcome.
That game was essentially lost in the first half.
Wake up call for the club to be honest. We look really underwhelming.

Somewhat lucky v city, absolutely tripe first half here.
Outside of Hiro, we now have Blackwood and some kids who are completely unproven. Last year we had Toure and Yengi. All the imports are another year older.
Just not convinced we have improved on last year and defending is laughable bad in both games, roar could have had 4 against 1st half!
Cv body language was poor I thought as well.
Anyway, no silverware for the reds this season with that loss today.
Well done oakleigh and Sydney United!

First half when they blitzkrieged through our midfield was where we lost it. Maybe it was Blackwood not being deep enough, or might have been the wingers letting players run past them without chasing?
Live, Ibusuki’s red looked well deserved. Appeared to go over the ball studs up and collect the Brisbane player on the shin at pace.

Goodwin, Clough and Juande all still to come back in.
A little bit of creativity and midfield smarts there.
Don’t give up on the season before it even starts.

Disappointing performance.
Defensively I don't think our back 4 is our biggest problem. The ball is coming in too quickly and easily and that makes their job difficult. Isaias' best years are sadly behind him and I don't think D'Arrigo is doing enough either. Ideally Ibusuki would be doing a bit more to put pressure on but that's just not his game.

Bugger, just saw the highlights, that was a disappointment.

Isa stepped up in the second half but too late. He's not the player he was and D'Arrigo isn't the player we hoped he'd become. Without a really competent and aggressive DM we won't win many. Poppa had a very bad night but he's been brilliant before. Cut him some slack. Halloran was also really off the pace. Not a good showing until Hiro was needlessly sent off. It wasn't a red but it wasn't a smart decision from him either. Looked bad in real time.
Carl didn't exactly inspire the lads with his relentless sulking either. He seemed to be taking the performance as a personal insult and was doing a very good 'petulant child' impersonation.
But it'll be ok. As others have said, plenty of talent to come into the team. I just hope we se a bit more speed up front.
