Not bad, not great. Expected it to be like that with the first real hitout.
Round of 16 and the streak continues. Hopefully the nexr round is sorted before the season kicks off, but i dont see that happening.

Yep considering they haven't played a game at all this preseason a lot of that was expected.
Good to see some new young kids get a go, Bernardo is definitely a chip off the old block.

It's not fair to judge yet but there wasn't much there to dissuade the concerns about our CB pairings.

Well done to Floreat Athena. Yet another club that demonstrates the need for a second division.

We still have Jakobsen and Ansell to come into the squad don't forget.

Timotheou just doesn't have it IMO. Although his orange card today, I thought the Floreat player was well offside but maybe I'm mistaken.

Looked exactly like a first preseason game, lots of underdone players, players missing from injuries and a few kids sprinkled around. Could have been Redlands all over again but luckily we sorted ourselves out.

Yeah we were missing our best two CB’s but I don’t really rate Ansell either. Jakobsen is class as we all know. The other option would be to put Isaias there which would weaken our obviously.

Hopefully Popovic can develop into a good player in the next few years.

Even though we struggled big time, I do think the way we finished the game showed that the squads mentality is good.

A few friendlies before our next game will be invaluable.

Timotheou-Tratt was downright frightening at times. Hopefully just a matter of needing time together. Bernardo had a good debut I thought!

One for the trivia/stats buffs: Bernardo was on the pitch with two guys (Isaias and Kitto) who played alongside his dad in the past.
Has that happened before at an A-League club?

Do you reckon Juande could do a job there? I like the idea of having composed ball players in the backline

I think they were saying Bernardo is the first completely A-League father son. I vaguely recall a podcast where Liam Reddy mentioned that he was playing/training with the son of someone he played with in the NSL so there's probably some of those.

I agree that Bernardo had a solid debut.

And Blackwood also showed a bit of something in the short time he played.
He may surprise us.

Missed it live because my stream decided to go to sleep at 90', but massive brain fart from the Floreat defender to give away the pen.
