Re: Who's signed for next season
Hello FCM, welcome
Awer Mabil is regarded as a talented young player who still needs a lot of work. I would not say he is the biggest talent in the league (Daniel Da Silva who is now with Roma would hold that title from last season), but his selection for the Australian under 20s shows he is regarded as one of best talents.
He is quick and that is a great asset.
He does play in a tricky way but has a tendency to over do it and a good coach needs to work with him on using it when needed and keeping simpler when needed.
He scored some excellent goals but he also missed a number of excellent chances during the season. The accuracy of shooting is something he needs to work on but that tends to apply to the whole Adelaide United team.
He is not close to playing for the senior Australian team but is seen as a player who could play for the team in the future as long as he continues his development and improves the weaker areas of his game. He is behind Robbie Kruse and Matthew Leckie as a right winger for the Australian team.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Yeah I could hear what was said. Well spoken from Jarrod and Awer. Both their love for the club is obvious. They just had an interview with Mabil on the big screen. Josep presented him with the shirt he would have been wearing tonight.
Said a few words and got a bit emotional.
What a legend.
Josep looked like a proud father handing his shirt over.
Do him (and us) proud Awer!

So gombau says we are close to signing someone who can play upfront.
Gombau also mentioned the striker was a separate issue to mabil leaving and they would begin looking for his replacement

Re: Who's signed for next season
I think AU showed interest in him a while back but he's just signed with Swansea.Could this new striker be James Demetriou?

Re: Who's signed for next season
I haven't seen a direct quote from Josep with the word "striker". My tip is another winger.

Heres hoping Troisi isn't out of our price range.
Re: Who's signed for next season
What does everyone think of La Rocca? Seems a mile off the pace to me. I guess still finding his feet in a very different system.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I don't see the need for big bodied, I would prefer a pacey striker with a great eye for goal over another Djite type player. Please a big bodied winger/striker.I haven't seen a direct quote from Josep with the word "striker". My tip is another winger.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Pretty sure Juventus bought him simply to develop him a little bit more and then sell him for as much as possible.Heres hoping Troisi isn't out of our price range.
Josep should go for either Babalj or Demetriou on loan. Maybe they could get Troisi on loan.
