Big clubs leaving FFSA

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
Yeah, the actual proposition appears to have been made around a month ago.
FFSA and the clubs have always gotten along on the surface, but theres alwas a few folk at different clubs that disagree and think things can be run better. My theory is if they want transperancy one way, it should go the other as well, but obviously being that Im not running a club myself I cant just assume thats easy. Either way if there is an issue, put it in writing, give it to the club/ffsa whoever and get it sorted.
Mind you, everyone will have an opinion. All we can do is let the clubs and FFSA sort out their differences. Its a few of the bigger clubs and teams that are airing issues, but in the scheme of things its only a small part of football in the state. Im sure it will work out fine.

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
Such a shame really, the FFA are just starting to open the door up to local clubs in the FFA cup, excluding themselves from this opportunity seems mindless to say the least.
What do the players think? surely some have aspirations to make it into the A-league or even beyond. A break away league would suspend them from a FIFA backed league wouldnt it?
Surely this is all huff and puff

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
Lots of players are pissed from what I heard. Theyve been fed the whole 'we will tell you when you need to know' line. As I said earlier, theres a good chance all the playing contracts of players at these clubs will become void, as they are FFSA registered.
My original theory was its a bluff, but they kinda proved me wrong last night and the FFSA appear to be planning for a season without them. If it was a bluff, it may have just backfired.
Conisder the clubs left behind though. Most have budgeted for amatuer playing contracts based on wins/losses. If it becomes a two division system, teams in the bottom half of a division may have safely assumed their season would be difficult, although if they get split into the bottom league, it may be in fact the opposite. You may see some clubs struggle for a few years if it happens.

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
In that case if the players are unhappy and its the larger clubs in adelaide trying to form this league then maybe .... just maybe they may not be one of the big clubs in a couple of years time as no one will want to play for them.
I think your right it has backfired on someone, but who remains to be seen

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
There were rumors about the clubs, but Im not gonna spread them anymore on here.
Bah, fuck it. At least two of those clubs were the ones that were rumored. One of those clubs physically sat next to the board members of the ffsa on the night, so if theres an issue there it was that the seats werent far enough apart.

As if they have a multi-million TV deal to finance this split...
Fools.
Instead of splitting the organization they should be working to get their people voted into the FFSA and allowing them to start making changes from the inside.

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
Sounds like a debacle. Especially given that the non-affiliated clubs will be ineligible for an FFA Cup which could be real money spinner & crowd puller for those involved.

This is getting past the point of insanity.

I am going to start a team in this rebel league and call them Awesome FC 2: Electric Boogaloo. Every player will have to wear a moustache and the goalkeeper kit will be designed to look like a pair of overalls. Our team mascot will be a bobcat. And I don't mean the animal.
Because this is how serious I am taking this progress.

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
apparantly the whole thing has collapsed as most of the "rebel" teams caved and went back to the FFSA today.

Awesome FC 2: Electric Boogaloo still remains in the rebel league and continues to fight the good fight. That fight, my friends, is for the right to party.

I was going to join this rebel league, but i dont like your attitude!Awesome FC 2: Electric Boogaloo still remains in the rebel league and continues to fight the good fight. That fight, my friends, is for the right to party.
I am now going to start my own rebel league!!
Seriously though, it seems this has backfired on those clubs. All they have done is confirmed and extended FFSA's authority.

Re: Big clubs leaving FFSA
I think the FFSA really need to come out and explain the whole situation and put the matter to bed. If they say nothing and this issue just 'fades away' we'll be having this disussion same time next year.
