This is a farce, please on any planet does this help are club , it’s the owners are the only winners , buy cheap maybe sell for a profit. And u can be sure that profit will never come back to players for us .
That in 12 months, he’ll be good enough to play for us and make an impact?

It’s not exactly rocket science

I think we all understand the plan. Some of us just have our doubts about the chances of it coming to fruition to the point where we get a good player out of it. I guess only time will tell.

But it's a new approach so kudos to the club for that I suppose.

Anyway, if he kicks on and sets the world alight in the Dutch second tier then surely one of the big Dutch clubs will come in with an offer that’s spare change for them but a handy cash injection for AU.
Not to be even more cynical than Martin, but this is surely the entire plan. Sounds very much like a club who had their funding slashed trying to find creative ways to generate some income. Tbh I'm not sure how I feel about signing players solely as a tradeable asset, but I spose I get it in that the A-League clubs are basically broke.

Well if the owners are broke and can’t supply us with a decent team , sell it and get out , why get in to something that ur not going to give the fans something to support . And yes a know the a-league is broke as well , but if they don’t provide a decent product, they won’t be broke because there won’t be anything to watch , supporters will only put up with so much then they will walk

Great news. At no point has he seemed out of his depth at such a young age.

Adelaide United is extremely pleased to announce that Feyzo Kasumović, Malual Nichola, and Amlani Tatu have all signed three-year deals with the Club, securing their talents until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
https://adelaideunited.com.au/news/reds ... ear-deals/

Great to see more long term deals offered to players coming thru the development sides.

From what I can see Feyzo and Malual are defenders and Tatu appears to be a wide attacker in a similar stature to Nestory. He seems to have a pretty handy right roof as well.

Yeah Feyzo is a big, ball-playing CB while Nichola can play RB and CB. He seems pretty short though so I’d imagine he’d play RB for the first team. Tatu is probably the biggest talent at the club and has a lot of similarities to Nestory.

All three of these players are Australian U17 internationals and trained with PSV at the back end of last season along with Bailey O’Neil.

Ok martinaufc , we’re are the 2-3 experienced players that we need to be competitive this year , or is the kids all we we get . Even with the 3 we have signed to still need a centre back a attacking midfielder and a good centre forward , so can u let us fans know are we any chance of more players or the kids are it . Cheers

It looks like the future is youth, youth and more youth.
(And the occasional Dutch oldie)
In a league without relegation why not ..?

Yeah. They’re leaving it a bit late with only two more months until the season starts. In Europe they get their new players in at least three months before the season starts. Boo!! 🤣🤣🤣

I love that the A-league calls what IMO is just common sense as unprecedented. Where are clubs going to make income if not the transfer market. The league is tanking financially with gambling and TV revenue arguably their only sources of income. The ladder this season should be a financial one not who wins points. If the league dies in a couple of years who is going to care who won the last few titles? :D

Ok, not sure when I got promoted to the club's recruitment officer but there you go

As Otto points out we are still a couple of months out from the start of the season, so there is still plenty of time for more additions.

We are definitely in need of some more defensive cover and some experienced depth up front would be nice. But the club are obviously aware that more troops are needed, as highlighted by the trialists at the West Adelaide game last week.

But in terms of attacking midfielders, I think we will be relying on Clough, Mauk, Yull and Ayoubi. You could throw Alagich, Cavallo and Duzell into that mix too but I'm not sure you could classify them as attacking mids as such. It’s debatable whether that will be enough, but strengthening the other areas is more pressing imo.
