Women's team
Am I just missing something obvious (quite possible)... but, is there a thread/forum for the AU Women's team? If you haven't watched them, it's good football and often more entertaining than the men's. It'd be nice to have a place to follow it.

There have been a few over the years. It just takes someone to get the thread going and to keep it alive (same with any thread/sub-forum).Am I just missing something obvious (quite possible)... but, is there a thread/forum for the AU Women's team? I guess this is a good place for it this year!
I've enjoyed the matches I've managed to catch though much prefer watching games at the ground than on the box.

Re: Women's team
Compared to last year’s efforts, I’ve found this season very disappointing. For a start nearly all games are played at ServiceFM. What’s wrong with double headers at Hindmarsh? But most importantly the team are weaker in defence and midfield compared to last year. I feel sorry for Fiona Worts and Analee Grove who were standouts last season. Both probably had aspirations to play for their countries at this year’s World Cup.
Rebuild next year please, starting with the defence.

Re: Women's team
Given how much of a shoestring the men's team is run on, I would hate to see how little budget we have for the women.
The fact we put a team out at all is an accomplishment.
Hopefully we get new owners and they can invest in all areas of the business.

Re: Women's team
We did alright last season - assuming my googlefoo is working properly, we finished 3rd last season.
It's possible the women's league is a bit more even than the men's though I may be very wrong on that (I really only watch AU)

Playing the Jets tonight. Below us on the ladder but we're also out of the top six. Too many over-use injuries, maybe the S&C coach needs a talking to.

2 - 2 draw.
Could've been worse considering we were 0 - 2 down.

Re: Women's team
It's been a horror season for our women's team.
I have mainly relied on the highlights reel on YouTube and the ladder says it all.
If there has been a lack of investment then surely it is here.

Yes, extremely disappointing. I don't think lack of investment is the problem though. The club hierarchy were keen to point to it as an area where extra cash had been injected when they were listing the improvements earlier in the season.
That just leaves poor recruitment and/or bad coaching

Re: Women's team
I’ve watched a fair few games on 10Bold and Paramount+ this season. In my opinion the team is lacking match winners and leaders. There appears to be a total lack of confidence throughout the entire group. Losing 8 nil at home was evidence of that. The players look comfortable with the ball so the skill levels are there. What’s lacking is good decision making. The team looked overwhelmed for the majority of the games.
A complete rebuild will be necessary if they don’t want the wooden spoon again. In the present league they are just not good enough.

Re: Women's team
We seem to have lost our way once Mary Fowler departed.
Is it a matter of recruiting a couple of strong characters, a controlling midfielder amongst them, in order to provide that on-field leadership?
