Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Far out 3-3.
Positives … hang on I’m thinking … never gave up, even when we went a goal behind … Irankunda still gets me up out of my seat … Mauk excellent … Isaias leading instead of just making up the numbers … Mauk gives us some bite and niggle that we’ve needed and demands standards from our players … Ibusuki can’t stop scoring.
Negatives … Delianov not looking like saving either strike from the edge of the area, even though they were straight at him … Warland too scared to play the ball out from the back that he always just passes it to Kikianis … Kikianis looks like a deer in the headlights …. every opposition attack feels like they’ll score … the penalty.
Should have won the game … but in the end ecstatic to get a draw. Funny old game.

Taggart. Should have been a red card for elbow to the head in the first half. Did it again in the 90+ minute and got away with it. Poor.Irankunda bumps into Taggart and Taggart gets the freekick whinging all the way. Taggart’s the biggest barging fouler on the park and never gets picked up for it.

Well, Perth does have some firepower with Taggart, Williams, Kamau etc, so always a threat. I don’t like to blame goalies for conceding goals as it’s the job of the players in front to prevent shots being taken at them. That said, Delianov conceded 2 that hit him before going in and he should have saved them.
Anyway, very disappointed with the result, especially after going 2-0 up, but you rarely get a boring game at Hindmarsh do you, and I feel well entertained tonight.

Yep. Couldn’t believe VAR didn’t ask the ref to have a look.Taggart. Should have been a red card for elbow to the head in the first half. Did it again in the 90+ minute and got away with it. A very strange game, for so many reasons. It does feel like 2 points dropped, but then given how leaky our midfield has been (which then puts the extra pressure on the backline), maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
Mauk gives us that bit of mongrel that we have lacked over the past 12 months or so. We need an enforcer, someone who does not take a backward step when the other side start their aggressive physical stuff and Mauk is that for us.
Hiroshi finally looks like a genuine no. 9. It's taken a while for both the back of house staff to get his body right and for him to acclimatise to the speed and physicality of the Australian league. Now he is a genuine threat and you can see that opposition defences are terrified of his height advantage in dead ball situations - which is why we earned the first penalty.
Maybe next week, our midfield can finally start getting on top, instead of always chasing opposition shirts. Maybe then we can get back to the free flowing, high scoring and highly attractive football that we started the season with.

11 games left with only 4 at home...
Friday's draw really hurts our finals' hopes.

And the second lowest attendance of the season. You can excuse the worst gate against Brisbane, the weather was diabolical. To lose 3400 fans in a week should hit the board in the pocket. That may see them sit up and take notice. You can’t fool all the people all of the time.

Yes, it clashed with big all-day concert in the parklands, but still. What’s that, 30% down on the previous week?
The owners will have to take notice of that.

3,400 x say $20 a ticket = $68,000
Multiply by 5 games = $340,000 potentially.
Might make them rethink their strategy of not replacing players.

Back to back home games always hurt attendance. Not the only factor but a big one.

Just checked & saw the crowd was still over 8,000.Back to back home games always hurt attendance. Not the only factor but a big one.
It wasn't that long ago we would have been happy with that.
Makes me feel a bit more comfortable about our support staying strong.
