Re: Perth Glory v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©
We have too many meh players like Kitto, Blackwood and Elsey that are really not up to the required standard. Whilst the referee and VAR shafted us 1st half, can’t blame them with the way we attack and defend,
Real problems everywhere and Verbeek slagging players in the media whilst honest, probably not going to help confidence and morale.
Would be shocked if MV don’t score at least 3on Friday.
Might have to dig up my preseason comment that our recruiting was negligent in not signing a LB and CB (kitto was never going to be as good as Galloway and Maria was Godwin’s replacement).

Ridiculing a player in public is not something an employer should ever do. The boss may be right but his frustration and emotion should be better contained. How different will the team be from the team that beat Victory 3-1, when they meet again on Friday? I think the extreme conditions of the past six weeks have really hurt the players. Combined with poor refereeing, frustrations at other players’ decision making and the boss breathing down your neck. It doesn’t look good and we may have to wait a few weeks before we see a confident team again.

I dont mind it to be honest as nothing he said was untrue. If he was to unfairly scapegoat a player to save his own hide then i wouldnt be a fan.
He was harsh on kitto but far worse has been said by fans in here. His errors were very basic He certainly was not Aleague standard yesterday.
I enjoy verbeeks no BS approach, if grown men and professionals capitulate to fair criticism about how well they have played then they are not at a level to be in the league.
Kitto is one of our experienced players, we need more from him.

I think he just said what everyone was thinking and what was obvious from his substitution at half time. Kitto was culpable for the first goal, the second he was also not closing down fast enough. If the result is Kitto has a sook about being singled out and asks for a release, it would be the best January transfer window business we've ever done.I dont mind it to be honest as nothing he said was untrue. If he was to unfairly scapegoat a player to save his own hide then i wouldnt be a fan.

I've gone right off Verbeek now. Despite the losses the team isn't playing awful, but for him to criticise the quality of his players two weeks in a row just doesn't help the confidence going forward.
I'd say his pet player Maria look a bit out of his depth at left back too, perhaps neither are real left backs. Kitto's done better as an attacking player in the past.

Kitto is an honest trier, he's just not very good. I find it a sign of society today that people take this public criticism so poorly. There was a bloke about 20 years ago who publicly slammed an AFL player far worse than what Kitto copped...... 25 weeks later they won a flag.
We are a soft society these days.

Agree with these. Its about good leadership, praise publicly, blast privately.
Kitto has never been a defender. Always played on the wing or midfield until recently.
The coaching staff could have recruited a proper LB but they decided to stick with Kitto as cover.

Far out, I have to wake up earlier.
I'm missing all the stuff ...
I read the comments here before I saw the post match interview.
He is telling us what we all saw and what we already know.
Yes, Kitto was bad in the first half and had to go but let's face it he is only "ok" and we would all prefer someone better ...
People think the Germans are blunt.
No way, the Germans are terribly polite and diplomatic.
The Dutch on the other hand are "straight up and down, a spade is a spade and bad luck if it's too hard for you" blunt .
But as we all know ...
After the game is before the game.
Come on United!!!

Pim verbeek and Guus Hiddink never minced their words either.
The manager is looking for a response from his team.

What part am i wrong?
The part about Kitto not being good enough?
Or that the Germans are diplomatic and the Dutch are blunt?
