Val via our buddy Buddy Farah is saying Dylan McGowan has signed for a European club.

Re: Who's signed for next season
we may be struggling to spend 70% of the cap next season with the amount of quality outs occurring since the GF, that's unless we get Connor Chapman in on 800k a season

Re: Who's signed for next season
If McGowan does go to a top 5 Euro league I can only wish him the best of luck.
He has come back to our club and performed week-in week-out, without fuss. He is now entering his prime years and deserves another crack in Europe. Only shame is I don't think we get a transfer fee?????
We try to replace him with Elsey (be nice if we still had Tongyik or Koutroumbis).

Good in DMac I say, but it's gonna be a hell of a rebuild during the off season, arguably bigger than this year's needed to be.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Is Scotland a top 5 league these days? lol
No transfer fee as his contract has less than 6 months.
AU are pretty good at losing their best players for free at end of contract e.g. Leckie, Goodwin and now McGowan.

If he went to Celtic you could argue UCL was a top 5 league.......Is Scotland a top 5 league these days? lol

But you'd think he will end up at a mid to lower table EPL or Bundesliga club. Still, good luck to him. Massive kick in the guts to lose him for free though

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season
I'm noticing some similarities with how a lot of people (myself included) commented about Bruce at the start of last season and how ineffective he was. I'm pretty sure you were pro Bruce at the time Stuckey and in the end you were 100% right. Now it seems that Carrusca is in a similar position to Bruce where some are disappointed with his effectiveness, others are pro Chelo.Sorry to keep bugging you but you've said this a number of times and I'd love to know what exactly he's doing that is quality?Carrusca deserves another year, the guy is quality.

Not having a go, just have noticed than anytime someone praises Chelo, you ask for specific reasons. Some people are going to have a different opinion about him but I think everyone is entitled to an opinion without having to give explanations.
Like I said the other week, perhaps he's being held to a higher standard, relative to his wages, but in my opinion he's been improving his form the last couple of weeks.

Any news regarding Danny Choi, is he still on Adelaide United's radar?
Was sighted watching a Blacktown City preseason match a few weeks back.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I am stunned that people would be criticising the club over McGowan leaving at the end of the season. He was looking at other options over the last off season and I think the club did extremely well to keep him for this season. He was always going to be looking to go elsewhere at the end of this season and it was always going to be next to impossible to keep him here. I am not sure why we would want to stop him from going to Europe and playing in a better league.
I am Scott

I think we have to get used to the fact that we will always loose players to the overseas leagues.
And we should also be happy that occasionally some will come back with more to give.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Only critique is continually losing many of our best players for zilch, never begrudge a player for leaving for better opportunities but last year it was Goodwin and Kmauu for free and now McGowan and then people say we have no money, well this is a reason why.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Imagine the uproar if the club had sold him ahead of acl. Even though Gerrard has little to do with player signings fans would complain its all just to line his pockets with coin and that Mcgowan should have been made to play out his contract.Only critique is continually losing many of our best players for zilch, never begrudge a player for leaving for better opportunities but last year it was Goodwin and Kmauu for free and now McGowan and then people say we have no money, well this is a reason why.
I think they are damned if they do , damned if they dont , until aleague wages significantly rise its something we need to get used to.

Re: Who's signed for next season
I wonder if we can get mauk and mabil back next season, neither seem to be doing much in europe.
The club nearly not mabil back once so its surely possible.
