Bruce interview on Fox

Postby MartinAUFC Sat Jan 23, 2016 5:29 pm

Did anyone catch Bruce's post game interview on Fox ?

He said he didn't lose any confidence during the drought, but admitted to it affecting his composure when chances came his way - the gap between keeper and post getting smaller, time going much quicker, that sort of thing. Interesting and honest stuff from the big fella.

He also put Kosmina in his place when asked if the players had now "bought in" to Amor's system. "Let's knock that one on the head right away, we have always bought in" says Bruce. Kossie was the one saying his "mail" was that there was friction between the players and the coach when AU were struggling earlier in the season.

You'd better check your sources John.

Rudan was also previously claiming that there were lots of disgruntled players and was present :D

With regard to the post-match commentary, I'll admit that there were *alleged* inside rumblings about how players didn't quite like playing under Amor. Well, how times have changed. He's visibly got the support of the whole team and the dressing room once more is united as it was under Gombau. He's a silent achiever

The team has always looked "together".
Is that interview view-able anywhere?

Having attended that game where the alleged rumblings took place (FFA QF v Victory). I would be shocked if all the players walked off the pitch singing and laughing after that performance. Obviously there would have been a few discussions. Couple that with at the time Amor's reduced communication skills. I'm sure a few people spoke up. But what I get is that those concerns were just that and now those on field issues are behind the club. The people that brought up those issue would most likely be satisfied with what's going on now.
Kossie is just (poorly) trying to stir the pot.
Its funny that now Kossie and Val have been put in their place by Bruce in the last 12 months.

Its funny when kossie talks about rumblings inside the club.

He had 3 coaching terms in the aleague, he was the king of player revolts

The players being paid might have helped smooth over any cracks

Bruce always gives great interviews, destined for a media career IMO.

I can see him in the administration of the game. Certainly he is one of the few players who doesn't have to be overly concerned about his post-playing career.

Yep that's a possibility too. I believe he has a few business interests about the place as well.

Bruce has always been a top guy. He's into finance too, particularly the share market. He's an ambassador for Port Adelaide in the AFL, a very busy name that doesn't get the attention he deserves.
