The coach said coopers
The players said coopers
The owners said coopers
The members said coopers
The FFA ignored the entire south australian football community. That is what they think of us. Nothing. No reply and no acknowledgment of the discontent amongst us.

I've written my letter to David Gallop.
Surely they have to respond.

I agree with everyone's disapproval of the Oval. Shit view, shit atmosphere, unfamiliar surface, no home ground advantage.
But then I think of the players and coaching staff who need us to give them what little advantage we can.
For this I'm going.

Re: #boycottadelaideoval
Hopefully the playing surface will be better. I think the issue for the MV game was that the grass was just cut too short. Hopefully they'll address this.
Hopefully we do see a good crowd as AU have only had one game at AO that was below the capacity of Coopers.

I think the grass was cut shorter for the cricket season so the ball and players were ice skating out there. It's supposed to be longer for the AFL season so should be sweet.Hopefully the playing surface will be better. I think the issue for the MV game was that the grass was just cut too short. The more "militant" fans around here might think this is a good thing. Conspiracy theorists would say it's a "pay back" to the AFL regarding Etihad. Personally I think it's neither

supporter... nah you are a fan who places conditions on your support. The way you get your point across has convinced me to go.....oh wait... no you just decided to personally abuse a fellow supporter.what a bunch of pathetic twats, the club has no say in this.
It's 99% gonna be our only home final and with a half decent crowd it can be a cauldron.
Spread the word, get people to show up and hope we can get a crowd over 30k.
Shit i'd rather be at Hindmarsh but using the stadium as a reason to not turn up is fucking pathetic.

The condition that the club comes first. I won't go and it's the first time in 11 years I have chosen to do so. I'm making a bigger stance based on my ethics and love for this club and code. You can blindly be manipulated but I won't be. The FFA are setting the tone for how they will treat us in finals and you are letting them. I get the support for the boys is needed but for the good of our future and the future of a rectangular stadium I will not go.supporter... nah you are a fan who places conditions on your support. The way you get your point across has convinced me to go.....oh wait... no you just decided to personally abuse a fellow supporter.what a bunch of pathetic twats, the club has no say in this.

It's not just the boys of today that need support but the future players and fans. You may be a bit young so don't understand what fans of the game have had to go through in the past and I think most fans would know patience is a must for followers of our great game.
On the short term the boys need the support but the long term ramifications can be devastating.
I will sacrifice today for a better tomorrow for the code. I've waited long enough for this code to find its feet and will not throw that away.

Re: #boycottadelaideoval
The thing is though, if AU were to make a GF it would certainly be played at AO. So aren't the club better off playing there as much as they can and get 'used' to it all?

Not only that, but when Adelaide Oval was being redeveloped we always knew that the 'big games' (i.e. finals) were going to be played there. It's not out of the blue at all, I'm not a fan of the decision but honestly rather than being outraged NOW we should have been onto it at the start of the season...
I do enjoy the fact that it's getting the AFL clubs' noses seriously out of joint though.

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I think he's entitled to place conditions on his support regardless.
Im not a fan of the view of the pitch at AO. What i am a fan of is the exposure that a 30k crowd will achieve.
Im however hesitant that it will set a precedence for future finals.
I managed to get out of my dinner that was stopping me from going, so for the good of the lads on the pitch i'll be going even though im not an advocate of AO for the round ball.

Re: #boycottadelaideoval
I'm not happy that its at AO but what has softened the blow is that the crows and power are whinging we are playing there on friday night before the 'showcase' game on sunday.
makes me happy that they are whinging.
if anything - if we get anything between 20-30,000 i think it justifies the AEC's recent comments of adding an extra tier to the south, north and east stand bringing capacity up to just over 20,000.
and as mentioned earlier - we were all aware when AO was being upgraded that our big games, including finals, would be moves to AO. so really, this campaign should have started from the beginning of the season when we knew we would be making finals.
