Re: Bruce's dry spell
Palenca has been here since January, so closer to 4 months than 2.
He has done NOTHING in that time despite having the opportunity to do that. I don't share your optimism on him at feel that Mabil is clearly the best option for that RM/RW spot.

Maybe Mabil is the better option ... but he is currently injured. So he won't play. Now is the perfect time for Palanca to prove his mettle.Palenca has been here since January, so closer to 4 months than 2.

Re: Bruce's dry spell
Every striker has a dry spell.
Before he came to Sydney, Marc Janko could not get a game let alone a goal at Trabzonspor.
He played 23 games over two seasons scoring 2 goals.

He scored nine goals in the 2010-11 season, playing for Gold Coast. Six of those were in two consecutive games - two hattricks.has bruce ever scored 10 or more goals in an A-league season?

Re: Bruce's dry spell
I just hope we are not paying him too much. also was quite amused at montano getting another fumble goal. he now has 5 goals this year, one behind bruce in a team that struggles badly to compete, proving that even donkeys can accidently score semi regularly. imagine if montano had carrusca, cirio, sanchez, jeggo, isais feeding him.

Re: Bruce's dry spell
He did a lot of good things in the first half and that header went extremely close to scoring, but yes no goals and 8 games without a goal is simply not good enough for a team that is trying to push to win titles. There must be a change for the future, for all his good qualities the team needs a better goal scoring striker.

Re: Bruce's dry spell
I'm a big Bruce fan. He works very hard and does a lot of very good work. His value to the team goes well beyond scoring goals. Unfortunately though, we can't afford to have a man up there who isn't scoring. Sure, we're a club built around having a number of players who score and so only part of his job description is scoring, however, he needs to bang one or two in occasionally, after all, he is the man closest to the goal.
Come on Brucie. Finish the season with a flourish and a scoring spree. No-one will think less of you if you do.

Re: Bruce's dry spell
So I counted Bruce receiving the ball in the area 3 times on open play. One he got his header away the other two he was closed down early. Considering AU made 25 crosses Bruce is receiving the ball just over 10% of the time highlights the scraps he's living off.

Re: Bruce's dry spell
Its actually not bruces job to make runs, our wingers an at times attacking mids should be doing this
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

Re: Bruce's dry spell
It is absolutely Bruce's job to make runs into the box to be on the end of our winger's good work.
