I missed the match due to returning home from the Yorke Peninsula, where I spent the weekend (mentioning this because I left behind an AU sticker in a BBQ stall). Was very surprised during a stop-off at Port Wakefield when a friend updated me that Sanchez netted the first. Walked towards my car to leave and then 2-0.
I was humbly not expecting that result at all, always dreaded our trips to Bluetongue. Great springboard for the big one next week and proves that we do have some high quality depth.

Think all the comments regarding how we played are absolutely justified but it does show how far we have come in terms of our expectations in just over a year!
Re: Preview: CCM v AUFC
Weather played a big part. Also had a big reshuffle in our lineup.

Match in 5 days time, away as well. Can see why we didn't go for the jugular.Weather played a big part. Also had a big reshuffle in our lineup.
Team worked fine with the reshuffle (and was great to see Kamau and Mabil working together at the end) but Chelo is capable of producing those passes capable of opening up defences more so than Cirio. Also Cirio is far more dangerous in the front line. Hopefully he's back on Friday.

Reddy was a massive liability for CCM, his distribution was atrocious, he passed the ball straight to Goodwin in the box, which we should have capitalized on. He failed to deal with Fabio's cross for the first goal and he made a tackle that Seb Ryall would be proud of.
We played OK, but not our best. Good to get the points.
It was good to see Cirio and Sanchez changing position often too.

normally I'd agree. However, given how A-league players react to an absent keeper, it makes sense to not treat it as a goal scoring chanceRE: the Reddy professional foul;
I think the rule is based on if it's a clear goal scoring opportunity.
That's why it's normally focused on whether or not it was the last man doing the foul.
After Goodwin beats the keeper, it's a 3 on 2 with no keeper. I can see a strong argument for it being a straight red for fouling in a clear goal scoring opportunity.
