I tell you what, if they move Unite Round a few weeks later in the season next year I reckon I’ll go.
I tend to watch a few games each week anyway, and it’s always better watching live.

Re: Unite Round
Hugely rate it. Looks a lot of fun - all the games and fans in one (or two) venue(s), joining in and cheering on opposition teams.
I will try to get there next year.
Would love this to be somewhere other than Sydney to make it more affordable for people to get to, but NSW is really the only gov't that gets behind the AL.
Looking forward to the APL building on this concept!

I’ve got family in Sydney too, so no accommodation costs for me.

Re: Unite Round
According to data on Austadiums.Com fewer than 40,000 turned up for the entire round. Obviously ran at a loss. Let’s hope lessons have been learned as it’s not a half bad idea.

Re: Unite Round
It's a good idea, but it could have been better promoted by the APL, which looks like it has dropped the ball again. Making AUFC wear an away strip for our supposed 'home' game was yet another own goal by them.
The AFL Gather Round was a sell out in South Australia. I couldn't even get a ticket for the match held in Mt. Barker, where I live, even though it was Fremantle vs North - neither of whom I have the slightest interest in, I just wanted to be part of the weekend. So the concept can work, but it needs promotion - and for APL to stop making unforced errors.

Re: Unite Round
Combined attendance for last weekend’s games was in excess of 48,000. And with one game a bye (Reds vs WU). So that’s about 20+% more than the much hyped Unite Round. The game is looking pretty healthy to me.

Crowds have been pretty good despite all the issues with the APL, which is great to see.Combined attendance for last weekend’s games was in excess of 48,000. And with one game a bye (Reds vs WU). So that’s about 20+% more than the much hyped Unite Round. The game is looking pretty healthy to me.
Unite Round should be better next year given more time to prepare / promote.
