HAL 20/21 Other Matches

Postby blahblah Wed Dec 30, 2020 7:32 pm

Watching the Western Sydney v McArthur game and it looks like the new club will be a welcome addition to the A-League. 0-0 at half-time and Lachy Rose is looking a great pick-up from the NPL for the Bulls.

Nice to have a side playing in white; neat strip.

I was thinking the same! Mauk being shoe-horned into the #10 position offered far, far more than Troisi did tonight.

Margush had a good evening. He was undone in the end by his entire wall not moving to the right as he requested (one did), leaving a slight gap the ball ricocheted through.

City with Jamieson, Garrucio and Galloway - 3 left backs for one position and little old us over here crying out for one.

Yet we always seem to have a plethora of wide AM's & keepers, so much so there is a hardly an A-League match where they don't feature.

Funny old world.

Campbelltown Stadium looks a good fit for the A-League. The cowbells by the Bullpen are a nice touch.

Agree. I wonder how much the stadium had to do with the bid?
A good stadium IMO would make such a significant different early on to the success of a new franchise. Even with all its success Brisbane still struggles.

Western United (which is east of us) will struggle for a few years then.

Any thoughts on the red card against Rufer in the farmer's derby?

Not sure how that can be given as a red, the tackle from the cowbell's player looked worse, a stomp on the ankle and then a tangle of legs as they went down, no kick out motion at all. Strange to give that one, wonder if it will get rescinded? All the nix fans are expecting it'll stand based on past hurt feelings.

From the camera angle that I saw that was a very harsh decision. Ref might have seen it differently at ground level, but if so, why didn’t he call it at the time?

We have seen some terribly soft reds over the years. A Reds GF against MV springs to mind...
