Rumours abound that Scott MacDonald has asked for an immediate release from Western United and may be Newcastle bound. Some are saying it's from unpaid player wages. Other players expected to follow suit and request a release.

Could just be smoke...

Where did you see this info?

Soccer Stoppage Time on Twitter via the r/Aleague subreddit.

Only a rumour, some people are denying it and some are corroborating the story. Nothing has come from it yet.Image

24 min: Oh my, oh my. We could have some more VAR drama here. Rhyan Grant has gone in high on Nathaniel Atkinson - and despite an on-field yellow card being awarded, we go upstairs to deliberate if that’s a tackle worthy of a straight red card.

And the machine men say: yes! It’s a red card for Rhyan Grant!

It’s a calamitous few minutes for Sydney FC.
For the life of me I can not see how this had to go to VAR.
It was a straight Red card from the very moment he left the ground and flew with both feet towards the MC player.
Grant actually flies into another straight leg tackle before the one for which the ref stops the game for.

Surely a lunging two footed tackle with both feet off the ground is a straight Red card in any league in the world.

Far out and the dude Ams has a FIFA badge.

Right in front of his eyes too. If VAR doesn't exist, that is a yellow card challenge for Ams. How disgusting is that.

Couple that with Ams telling Beath that Duke's kick out on Friday night did not need to be reviewed further and you have to wonder how he can possibly not think red card for those 2 challenges.

Is there any oversight at all for referees? Can he continue to not punish dangerous and reckless play without any review?

Absolutely pathetic.

SFC are unstoppable, possibly the greatest team in A-league history. certainly up there with the brisbane team and victory team

I'm not so sure, I thought they looked beatable last week and last night. They weren't playing the most powerful teams either. Jets were all over them in the second half but didn't have the quality to score.

I guess the counterpoint to that is that good teams get the wins even when they aren't playing their best.

MV succumb to two late, late CCM penalties and Kurz gets a red card and will more than likely be sitting in the stand when his team visit Hindmarsh next week.
Oh the irony ... :D

I watched the last 10 minutes of the game.

The last time CCM beat victory was 7 years ago.

CCM 1-2 MV 90+4mins
CCM 2-2 MV 90+6mins
CCM 3-2 MV 90+10mins

You hate to see it :D

Watching all the grief the AFL and NRL are going through makes an August restart appear rather sensible indeed.
