I note that critics of the A-League finals are somehow never willing to go as far as acknowledging Adelaide as the first champions of the A-League

Why didn't the Adelaide grand final have any entertainment?

The game and day was fantastic but it just seems like every other GF has pre game or half time entertainment.

Melbourne victory score first at the 8 min mark. Goal was offside, very clearly yet the goal was VAR approved.

0-1

20 mins

Commentators are saying MV had to do it the hard way and few would argue that it isn't the right result.

But they are also maintaining that it was a massive error by VAR.

Oh well, at least it isn't Sydney!

Thats like the 3rd Red Card to O'Donovan that has been for some absurdly violent/reckless act

That’s two championships victory have won thanks to incorrect decisions. The first being a 1-0 win over us when cristiano was wrongly given a red in the first half.

Pretty bad advertisement for the game in Australia.

The 4th best team after 27 rounds, who finished 21 points behind 1st, are champions after a game where the VAR failed to overturn an early obvious offside goal, which led to them parking the bus for 81 minutes while the other team repeatedly turned the ball over without pressure and only looked dangerous for 25 mins. Also an Irish bloke kicked someone in the face.

As some others are saying on Facebook, a fitting end to a terrible season. VAR needs to go, Gallop and Lowy need to go, we need more teams and FFA need to do some marketing. This year has been a massive step backward for the league, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do to fix it in the long long long off season.

Grand final was a total farce!

The only goal was clearly offside, VAR does nothing.

Berisha DID swing his elbow down to impede O’donovan. It was much more red than Cristiano in 2009.

Odonovans red was clear, dangerous and reckless. HOWEVER, the amount of scrutiny the fox pundits and other media have put this incident under is way overdone. Eyes for the ball no intent to hurt however was reckless and dangerous thats football. 3 week ban move on, genuinely terrible sight though
