Holy heck.

This means more representation in the FFA Cup yeah?

What a great outcome.

It's not a full merger as has been Chinese whispered, but correct - purely a formal affiliation to push for more SA FFA Cup spots.

So if we gain an ffa cup spot, who would lose one? I don't see any federation giving a spot up so I will believe it when I see it

I don't think the Federations really have a say. Its allocated based on participation numbers.

But probably Northern NSW. They've had 2 so far.

Hopefully it's NNSW. The standard there in the Cup so far has been pretty poor.

Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me how many more ‘federation’ clubs will now be eligible to play in the FFA Cup to before?

I’m guessing it would be all the SAASL clubs?

And how does our number compare to the other states?

Depends on what you are asking. All SAASL clubs will now be eligible to enter the FFA Cup preliminary rounds. The increased participation numbers mean SA will now earn extra spot(s) in the R32.

But who will lose a spot and will they just let it happen? I can't see the FFA actually growing a spine and telling a nsw federation they have lost a spot
