FFA to release control of HAL.

Postby Stuckey Thu Feb 16, 2017 9:15 am

A SEPARATED A-League is imminent after Football Federation Australia told club owners that they were finally prepared to relinquish control of their competition.

This looks to be huge news. It will be interesting to see how the FFA hand the votes out if they do. I wouldn't be surprised to see some clubs/areas get more votes than others.
Although with Griff head of the pro clubs association. I'm sure he'll take care of AU/his interests!
FFA conceded that the A-League must be separated to grow the value of the club licenses and entice more investors and investment from the existing clubs.
Hilarious point. So the FFA admits them controlling the HAL reduces the value of it.

I'm sure with such a huge thing like this on the table. I doubt HAL expansion is going to be addressed anytime soon.
Time to Djbate!

This is huge!

However there are very real concerns over a power vacuum and where the cards will fall. Fantastic for the league and possibly not fantastic for ccm, adelaide and perth.

I wonder if this could be an opportunity for south melbourne, brisbane strikers, wolves etc to get back to top flight

Is this the end of the beginning, or the beginning of the end? Only time will tell.

Perfectly summed up in one sentence

We need relegation to concentrate the minds...

A second tier would also be they way to go but I don't know if I'll see it in my lifetime.
