With FIFA breathing down the FFA's neck it will be interesting to see what comes of this. The FFA can obviously ignore the concerns of local stakeholders. But I doubt they can ignore FIFA for too long.

Im not sure they can ignore local stakeholders much more since city group got involved.

The natural progression is for clubs to break away from ffa, although it would be a political clusterfark given clubs are merely ffa franchises but the power is slowly shifting into the owners favour.

More to the point, for a child that was formerly paying $12.60, the fee will now be $14.00, while for an adult that used to pay $25.00, the cost will jump to $33.00.

“One thing is self-evident, FFA have an under performing bloated bureaucracy which is not sustainable. Taxing junior and amateur participants will be a clear sign of failure on the part of the FFA, which in its present form, is an undemocratic entity controlled by a few people,” he said.

I am not sure. They were certainly hoping for more cash from the Socceroos however this type of decision would have already been in the works regardless of the performance of the national team.

Sweeping governance changes proposed for Football Federation Australia by a Fifa-backed working group appear likely to fall at the first hurdle. The longer a resolution takes the more the fans will be alienated.

If FIFA intervene and give the A-league clubs control (which they would use for their individual benefit rather than to benefit the A-league or the national teams or the grass roots), within 5 years I expect to see: problems with the national teams; problems with the PFA; problems with the broadcast rights; reduced funding to grass roots; reduced crowds; and multiple clubs going into administration.

Call me pessimistic, that's just how I see it.
