Interesting that both Melbourne HAL clubs didn't win convincingly last night. I wonder if this is more down to complacency or the shift in the scheduling that NPL clubs are theoretically at their fittest while HAL clubs are still 6 weeks away from the start of the season. I feel like FFA Cup game between NPL and HAL sides are getting closer and closer now. Not that I feel is enough of an excuse for any HAL side to lose but I'm excited that the gap appears to be reducing on the pitch at least.

Melbourne City up 3-0 before half time.

Game isn't shown but if the score is any reflection they are scary good.

WSW down to 10 men with NTS sent off. Can safely pass on him I reckon.

Perhaps City will be the real deal this year.

Pretty entertaining match last night. Bentleigh really out played Victory for a lot of the game.
Funny that all the MV players AU were linked with in the last couple of seasons (Bozanic, Troisi, Austin) none of them really did anything to impress me against opposition they should be more than capable against.

Amazing that after everything a NPL club from Canberra is in the Semi final.

Next season please do away with an npl club automatically making the semis.

Lets let clubs cup runs be organic, its been proven aleague clubs can be beaten in pre season and having 4 clubs in the semi's who deserve it actually adds to the spectacle

I went to the game tonight. Sydney looked flat and Canberra Olympic were competitive without really looking dangerous, also 10C and windy is way too fucking cold for the middle of October.

Worst mistake: buying food before entering due to the large range of options within the ground.

That and adding another round. Have round of 64 and all clubs play in their home state if possible.

I know this isnt traditional but i like the idea of a short group stage same as the world cup. of course there would be more travelling expenses but it would also give aleague clubs more preparation during preseason.

Bean counters would probably say the cost to do this are astronimical but i can dream.

I can't decide if I like that idea or not.
More games, but I like the make-or-break concept of a knock out cup.

Perhaps round of 32 and round of 16 could be home and away legs instead? More football, still a do or die feel to it too.

So a very keen eye on tonight's game. Hopefully we see a tiring game taken all the way to penalties!

Sydney FC chief executive Tony Pignata believes Allianz Stadium could attract more than 18,000 people if the club are chosen to host the FFA Cup final.
What an amazingly pathetic boast from one of Australia's biggest clubs in Australia's biggest City.

When is this club going to lift it's game and actually contribute to the game with the population base they have to play with?
AU is only 1,700 members behind them in the tally.

Adelaide had 16500 at our cup final which was sold out.

Utterly piss poor!

could be worse, #vi$ion fc could play at home in the final
