Perth have released a 4 year strategic plan, "The Perth Glory Way" which outlines the vision and direction of the club in a clear and presentable manner. Well done Perth.

Adelaide United should be doing something similar as it confirms clarity in strategic thinking, encourages fans and investors and also creates expectation that the club needs to meet.

Nice to see them make a plan. But for a club that started in 1996. 8 years before the HAL started why hasn't much of their plan already been achieved? Considering even a club with such a mixed history like AU can.
I like their interest in Asia though.
The plans for having Socceroos is great but not really something they can control.

I agree it would be nice to see AU come out with a plan. Especially now that we have a new head of football and CEO.
Michael Petrillo had a clear set of goals and plans for the club. A permanent training ground and a local development squad to top of his agenda so it was wonderful to see those both happen before he left.
10,000 members is clearly one goal AU has though. Hopefully that's where Grant Mayer comes in.

I've done a lot of this type of strategic planning around Asia, including for professional football.

They are very useful for articulating a vision and creating belief, particularly amongst stakeholders that are not privy to the inner workings of management. They also need to be monitored with progress measured and reported against.

In all they are useful in strengthening corporate governance, something professional sport across the board needs more of.

Perth Glory will be looking to play games at the brand new Perth Stadium as part of its ambitious four year plan.

The only time Subiaco was a viable option was the NSL Grand Finals. There's being ambitious and then there's being ridiculous. Sure look at it for a grand final if the FFA ever allows you to have one. But unless you're selling out NIB why bother. 15k in a 60k stadium would be terrible. They have said we've be looking at getting crowds of 20K, that's what NIB holds....
