FFA CoE have announced the new list of players to join their program.
Interesting not one player from Victoria. Looks like Victory and City have taken over youth development there. Which IMO is how it should be. I'd much rather see these kids stay in their home state.

Who knows anything about lachlan brook and melad Ahmad?

im guessing they are quite young as i havnt heard of them and ffa coe tend target talent from 16 years and up.

Good point about city and victory. Our golden generation came from clubs producing their own talent FFA COE produced mark warren

Brook played for the FFSA NTC and made a few appearances for the AU reserves side last NPL season. Featured a lot with the U17 squad in the qualifying for the 2016 U17 Asian Cup.
Melad is the same situation I think.

Football Federation Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Canberra will close later this year as part of a strategy to provide opportunities for many more talented young players around Australia.

Great news. Wonderful to see the FFA acknowledge this.

I agree that this should have happened a while ago. The money saved could go into providing support for promising talent that is not covered by the NPL/A-League footprint, such as many of those in rural Australia, the NT and other island territories. Though I doubt this will happen to any significant degree, if at all.

Now all we need is to get these kids regular game time just look at what its done for odoherty and in particular mcgree!

imagine how many others are out there who just need some regular game time to develope.

Leckie and rogic are prime examples of kids who missed the boat with rep sides but stormed onto the scene with a touch of faith resulting from misfortune from their clubs. Both are national team starters. Leckie claimed he was looking into being a tradie before aufc came calling!

Just need more clubs and more games now, the talent is clearly out there its just too risky for an aleague club to risk giving these kids regular minutes in such a short season.
