FFSA

A STATE-first soccer program offering promising youngsters fulltime training and nationally accredited qualifications has been unveiled by Football Federation SA.

The two-year Australian College of Sport Football Program will open in February with an initial intake of 16 male players aged 17-21.

Very happy to hear about this. Its so much better to see the FFSA trying to be proactive instead of sitting back, whinging and blocking AU's every move.
Trying to beat them at the development game is far more beneficial.

This is sounding positive. The more options the better.

Francis Wong is making a play to join the FFSA board, with a view to unite the game in this state.
I hope he gets his chance!

16 players i mean how that is a positive i'm not sure. 16 for godsake lol, you need 600 players and a structure for the cream to rise to the top because talent development is difficult to predict.

The Football Federation SA (FFSA) Annual General Meeting was last night held at Coopers Stadium with President Judge Rauf Soulio signing off on what has been an important phase in the history of Football in South Australia.

So the board now consists of Francis Wong (who used to be on the AU board) and now Sam Ciccarello is president. Sam used to be the CEO of AUFC. Although I'm not sure what his relationship with the club is since he was part of the Bianco consortium who had to hand the HAL licence back to the FFA.
Either way I think having Francis Wong on the board and the news of AU taking back the running of the Lady Reds fills me with hope that next season could be a far better one for AU and hopefully we will see some more permanent things put in place for AU to work with going forward. Going from season to season having to re-structure every year is doing no one any favours.

Malcom Turnbull and the FFSA announce a new facility to be built in Mt Barker.

Looks very nice. Obviously the new Mt Barker side will be based there. I wonder if any other side will be moving in?

West Adelaide have announced their new facility at Kilburn. It looks fantastic and I hope it happens. Its amazing they are still pushing for it after 8 years of trying.
