I thought John was going to MV as assistant? Surely that'd be a smarter move. Foxtel are saying it's happening though. I feel sorry for him. He needs a more settled club than Brisbane. Hope it doesn't end in tears again. Rudan would have been a much better choice, at least he has solid experience and proven success leading a club and the NSWPL isn't your saturday arvo kick around.

Honestly, Brisbane have a great list. He wouldn't have to do much to get them into the 6.

I think people were a bit harsh on John. He was very unlucky with injuries at Heart. But he certainly didn't help himself with some very questionable selections.

I like John and want him to do well, this is why the Brisbane management worries me - I'm scared he'll wind up having to deal with a mess again which is not what a novice coach wants when learning his trade.

The thing is brisbane sacked their coach after he won the double, seriously tuff crowd.
He clearly has much to give though, has played in all the big european leagues and been at world cups.
City/heart was a basket case regardless of who was managing, im not sure why he didnt just chase an NPL managers position or something in south east asia because if he fails now then he is cooked

John is not a good a coach as Ross, but he's better liked.

He spent a season as an assistant coach under JVS of all ppl before he was thrust into the top job. He did shit (for the most part), so now ppl are shitting on him.
Getting some runs on the board at a local level like Rudan would've helped him a lot. I guess we'll never know now.
He is definitely able to analyse the game at a good level though.

Nope, needs some more time to get his style and management settled, but he is successful at a national level with AUFC already.
